Always a good time when Kiryu's around. Best thing about the game was a fun retelling of the start of the Meiji Restoration with Kiryu. Worst thing about the game was that the most difficult enemy in the game was the main character's camera. Overall, a great game for those who love the Yakuza games with Kiryu.

It was definitely cool seeing all the familiar faces of the main games in a historical setting, but the game is just okay. The story was decent; it starts out a little boring but I started to enjoy it later on. The whole different names thing was an interesting twist, but that, along with being so used to these faces being attached to different names made it hard to remember everyone's names. The combat was decent and I liked learning the styles; however, this game should've been on the Dragon Engine and had the smoothness of that engine's combat. It feels so dated. The brawler style is also just super useless. I kind of liked the difficulty of the bosses but some of them were just kind of stupid. I wish the card system and super powers didn't exist. Your weapons are weak unless you decide to grind. Not many heat actions and they feel kind of boring. I wish the heat flame was more apparent.
Voto: 9.5/10 Like a Dragon: Ishin!
