This is a beautifully crafted game! The music and story are so pretty, its a great game to wind down with after a long day of stress. If you have concerns about hearing the tones there are visual cues to help you, so this game really can be played by anyone!
LightBreak is a game thats Experimenting with the bounds of its Genre. Its a Rhythm game, but you play with melodies. Its a point and click game, but intertwined with soundtrack. Its a puzzle game, but its puzzles are deeply mixed with narrative and environmental storytelling. Its a COZY game, but theres a dark mage causing mischief all over the place! Cannot recommend this game enough! Buy it! study it!
It's a super chill, beautiful game. I also like that it doesn't force player to finish the level or put some other form of stress. It has tiny details that makes playing it very pleasing, I was mostly enjoying the music and the notes than following the story but I wish there were more levels.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vl4LnNFOPIc Liminal and Aesthetic, enter a dark world of hand drawn magic. The music, puzzles, and visuals are all on point. I suggest removing visual cues and make the game challenging. This is a great game to relax to!
I definitely enjoyed the demo for this fun and thoughtful game, and the full version more than fulfills the promise of the demo. It is both thought provoking and relaxing at the same time, and it is a pleasure to use eyes and ears to solve the puzzles. I see myself playing this game for many more hours.
This game was magical! I was really impressed about the general atmosphere of the game the music and backgrounds were really serene and made me feel relaxed. The story was very introspective and the first person perspective really lets you feel Ava's emotions. The art style feels like a mix between a high fantasy novel and a painting. The game play was different from anything I have played before and the music making was fun to mess around with. I sometimes just spent time listening to the ambient soundtrack because it's nice to chill to. This game is perfect to unwind and relax too.
A beautiful game that does things with sound design I didn't even know were possible in game design, very cool! The puzzles are clever and a surprisingly fun and engaging challenge to someone with no musicality like myself lol. A cute story as well with pretty artwork, but the sound design integration into the gameplay and story delivery is truly unique in my video game experience. Turn off visual cues in the settings to really get immersed in the audio puzzles like I did!
This game was amazing: so simple in gameplay, yet so pretty in artstyle. The sorting puzzles were the easiest for me, finding the start and end blocks then making a few adjustments in the middle got me through pretty quickly (this was with visual cues on though so it was easy). The island puzzles got me thinking more though, which, along with the artstyle, were my favorite part of the game. Getting about halfway through, the puzzles started needing more thought, which i thought was a nice increase in difficulty. I'm glad that they weren't too hard at the end for me. The couple times I took a break from this game was either to sleep or rethink how I tried the puzzles, which was only for a couple of them, but man, the very last set really pushed me. It's kinda funny that I could've finished the whole game in one night, more or less if it weren't for the little glitches I found. One of them was from me finishing an island too fast, some music blocks disappeared inside each other a couple times, the screen freezing in-between cutscenes once, and a finished sorting just not moving on at the end. All of these were fixed by either restarting the level or leaving the game and restarting or being able to skip that one sorting, but as annoying as it was, at least I didn't have to do a lot to get back to where I was before. Overall, good job, devs. Ya'll did amazing!
A very relaxing puzzle-solver driven by musical interactions and a suspenseful tale. Highly recommend checking it out!!
LightBreak is a game filled with intention, from each set of music notes to the puzzles that liter much of the levels. Every instrument matters, every object matters. Either to create an atmosphere, deliver Ava's storyline, or expand on the lore, the details add up. The game delivers both a musical and puzzle experience, both completely breaking genre conventions. The music aspect isn't focused on conventional rhythm but melody and pitch recognition. The Memory Fragment puzzles have a gameplay loop and solution that is learnable and story driven, yet can't be compared to much else currently. This is a handcrafted, detail oriented game in the best sense, probably most evident when looking at the many hand drawn and animated cutscenes. Every part of the game will undoubtedly deliver satisfying SFX and absolutely beautiful environments.
