About

Light Fairytale is a turn-based Japanese-style RPG series set in a dying underground world ruled by an evil empire.
The goal of this project is to bring back the immersion and emotion of 90's era JRPGs on current platforms with the expected evolution in both design and technique.
Episode 1 is the start of the adventure. Play as Haru and his childhood friend Kuroko as they fight a dark empire in the underground 'Lower City'.

Characters

Haru
A bit lazy and a lot naive, Haru nonetheless is a kind soul and knows how to handle himself if push comes to shove.

Kuroko
She might be short and cute (sometimes), but don't let that fool you: Kuroko is exceedingly capable in battle and always willing to step up. She's also fond of technology - maaaybe a bit too much so.

Notes about the Light Fairytale series
Each episode is a standalone game, approximately 2 to 3 hours long for a first play-through, double it for a full completion of all the achievements and secrets.

Reviews
x-- 7/10 --x A really well made and simple RPG. Loved the inspiration and little easter eggs.

Now, in itself I am very impressed by the developer doing this as a single dev project. It also has certainly nice sides, like the character designs or the settings. As a game it is... kinda bad though. Half the game is just running around randomly trying to figure out what else the game wants from you. The combat is well, the less said about it the better. And while the Developer was very honest about it that doesn't change that the game is incredibly short.
It's pretty neat that they came up with this little bite sized JRPG, but even on sale for a couple of dollars, I can't actually recommend it. There might be hints of an interesting story, but the dialogue is rough, there's a lot of walking around and talking to people with confusing room transitions, and the combat doesn't bring anything unique to the table.
nice game :))))))))))))

If you're looking for a bite sized RPG with FF7 inspiration made by an indie dev, this is the game for you. Not a long run-time and is episodic so keeping that in mind it might be too much money for some but personally I didn't mind it.
