Boring
good gay game
Es stürzte leider immer ab beim zurück spulen der Zeit und leider finde ich das Game auch abseits davon nicht besonders gut Die Musik ist leider wieder sehr Monoton und nicht so toll abgestimmt wie in Life is Strange und Life is Strange Before the Storm Zusätzlich fehlt es dem Spiel auch an dem gewissen Charm was zum Großteil an der Grafik liegt die dem Remaster schon sehr nahe kommt Und Chloe hat grüne Haare
As a long time Life is Strange fan, this is an 8.5/10 from me. Overall - MUST RECOMMEND The Good : This is fan service, this is what the fans wanted after ten years. What a fitting end. (I always want more of Max and Chloe's journey through time travel). It combines both prime gameplay features (time travel and backtalk) of the original two games, with the modern age graphics and mocaps. Caledon as always is a lively place, compared to the dark backdrop of Arcadia Bay. Kinda place where I wanna live in some day. The Bad : This feels like a one-shot, an amazing one, what Death of the Outsider was to Dishonored, this is to Double Exposure.
Merci !
This game is weird. Honestly this is the game they should have made the first time. It’s very telling that the game starts by pretty much retconning the ending to the last game. Suddenly everyone has “time amnesia” and can’t remember anything. It’s painfully stupid and nonsensical…I hate it. Also Safi has just straight up given up on her quest and has returned…again…it’s stupid. Diamond who is revealed to have powers at the end of the first game doesn’t even show up. As I said, this game feels like they were trying to have a redo of the first game by throwing out all the stuff they realized didn’t work and was stupid… The other massive issue with this game is it’s just ridiculously too short. This is a 10hr game…10hrs is not a sufficient time to tell a story. The game should be 20hrs minimum. If you can’t make a 20hr videogame, don’t bother making a videogame. This is technically a “murder mystery” but the murderer is so absurdly obvious that when the game asks you to identify them it felt like a joke. I don’t know how you could fail to deduce the murderer. I do love that at the end of the game they ask you basically 2 questions to see if you’ve been paying attention to the clues…but geez it is obvious. The game also really telegraphs when you should use your powers to find more information. I would prefer if it didn’t. I loved in Life is Strange 1 that you could find a lot of little secrets by using your powers to ease drop on conversations. This game literally will say “you must use your power now to rewind.” I just found it unnecessary. This is especially frustrating because early on in the game I was every excited because it announced “ok we told you how this world works now solve this murder” but it’s not an open world it’s just a linear game that tells you everything you need to do. Unlike the previous game your choices do matter here more…but the only real changes are who dies at the end of the game. So…it’s nice your choices matter…but the consequences are so finale. If you only make a 10hr game your choices should have massive changes so there are like 20 different ways the game should end…not just a memoria of who died at the end. I understand this is a fully voice acted game, but Scarlet Hollow is a visual novel with a ludicrously smaller budget and yet that game has an insane amount of ways that story can go and your choices drastically effect both the outcomes in the game and the information you have to solve the mystery of Scarlet Hollow. It is the finest adventure game ever made. Still…this game brings Chole back and that is glorious. It is a shame the game continues to have this nonsensical version of Max’s power where she can like stich together timelines to create new realities. It makes no sense. Later in this game Max has the ability to literally hear what happens in photographs, this makes no sense at all. The incompetence of the story telling here is all the more frustrating because there is already a graphic novel by Emma Vieceli and that has a far superior story and a much better explanation of Max’s powers. They should have just copied that…or just go read that instead of playing this game as it’s the superior option. One of the problems with Chole’s return is the obvious fact that the game is clearly built around the premise that she died. They technically let you pick whether she lived or died in the first game, but the dialogue and character interactions become close to an absurdity. They didn’t even spend the time necessary to have drastically different conversations between if Chole was alive or dead. You might as well pick that she died or else most of the emotional beats of the game and dialogue will seem exceedingly strange and nonsensical. Look this is a fan service game and one that didn’t take the time or effort to really give this fan service the time or depth it deserved. They create a flimsy murder mystery plot that is too short and barely cared about to just tell a short story of Max and Chole’s reunion. Hell…there are even very few “moments of calm” they didn’t even have the energy to do that. Still Chole is back and this is clearly the ending to the series and it’s a very good ending. I do also enjoy the return of characters from the prior game like Moses as he is great as is Amanda and Vinh. I did not need Loretta or Yasmin. It was also cool that you got to play as both max and chole. Having the duel points of view is great…however like everything else it’s clear they just didn’t give this the time it deserved. The game could have bene a masterpiece instead it feels half baked…but I can’t say I didn’t enjoy my time with it. You just need to go in realizing this is really just DLC to Double Exposure…it’s insanity that they pretend this is a full game on it’s own #Worth $20….oh also Japanese voice actors crush it…I love the English voice actors, but try playing the game in Japanese, it’s super worth it!
I love these games. I was upset at the end of Double Exposure, but this game addressed all the points I made in my previous review. There are a few plot points that are slightly contrite. That said, these characters are all well-written as long as you are vested enough to suspend your disbelief.
