ATÉ MAIS, LIFE IS STRANGE! JOGASSO!
I really enjoyed this game from start to finish. Exploring the campus and the world of Caledon University was one of my favorite parts, and I loved walking around to discover new details. The characters are once again well-written, and it was great to see Max return as the main focus of the story. Max no longer has her rewind power. Instead, she can shift between two timelines, using this new ability to investigate and solve the mystery surrounding Safi. I really enjoyed this gameplay mechanic, and it kept the story interesting throughout the game. That said, I didn't feel as emotionally connected to the supporting characters as I did in the first two Life is Strange games. The original cast left a much stronger impression on me. However, the game does a great job of developing Max further, and the improved graphics make everything feel more immersive. I definitely recommend playing the original Life is Strange before starting Double Exposure. The game references characters and events from the first game, and revisiting those moments made the story feel much more meaningful and complete. Overall, I really enjoyed Double Exposure :D
On one side, we visit a campus that is in a pessimistic mood due to the murder, while on the other side, a colorful campus and energetic people preparing for New Year's events await us.
经典虎头蛇尾,前面几章还行,经典超能探案,最后一章无铺垫一转MAX教授与披着万磁王皮的魔型女萨菲,剧情上感觉走崩了
Game is a mess. I can't go past a certain point because the game crashes.
If i had to sum up this game, it'd be: It's new, but it's trying so bad to recapture the first game's success and story. I didn't hate my time with this game. As i kept playing, i was hooked with it like i did with 1 and even 2. But, when i thought about the story logically (and even before i came to this conclusion, as i was nearing the end of chapter 3), You come to realize this game desperately needed a different writing direction. It's clear in so many ways that Deck Nine wanted to make sure you felt all the fuzzy tingly feelings about LIS 1 without much effort. The new girl you have here, Safi, is essentially the cut and paste version of Chloe from the first game. her inclusion is respectable in the beginning, but over time she essentially derails the plot. If i had any say in this game, I would've either cut her out entirely, or made her take more of a back seat. SPOILERS:
the game builds up to the fact that you may have killed her, but you don't remember doing that. and you're already travelling between two timelines and seeing other versions of people, right? i think they should've run with that further and made everyone from the other timeline in on it. doing that would've taken way more writing skill and time, but anything would've been better and more interesting than what we ended up getting. hell, what did they end up doing with the detective? i picked the route where he got sucked up by some time thingy and nothing is developed beyond that point. so much missed potential, it's agonizing. as another note, some people dont like how max isn't recognized as a teacher in the story, i didn't hate it myself, because i'd like the think for the story to pan out and for her to use powers again, she'd still need to have some immaturity in her character to make her choices make sense. However, that being explained or built up would've been nice. and yes, her voice still sounding so young is still jarring. This is a massive cope on my end.
If you like the other games, you will most likely enjoy this one. but it's like you're enjoying a great value version of life is strange. obviously, the basics are here, and it seems alright, but deep down you know it can be better. best i would give this is a 6.5/10. barely passing. (and this isnt even mentioning the bad optimization which needs either a monster PC or constant settings tweaking. it wasn't that bad on my rig, but it's a dealbreaker for some people).
I mean, play it if you like the first game, the early chapters are good and engaging. [strike] But the ending of this game is really really bad. [/strike]
I don't know what the ♥♥♥♥ they were thinking when in the last minutes of the last chapter they were setting up the plot to an avengers-like sequel and literally ending with "Max will comeback" like the marvel movies. But it really put a bad taste on my mouth. Like, the final chapter writting was already not good, but this just made it worse
CLAP CLAP CLAP NADA QUE DECIR
It's a good game, if you have played the other Life is Strange games, and you are going to play reunion after. Don't play this if you haven't played the others, you'll miss so much. Graphics in this game are really good, and the story does have good parts. It does get a little messy and hard to follow after episode 3, so you should play this in one sitting so you don't lose the plot. Is it as good as the previous Life is Strange games, no. But is it still an important part of the story and worth playing? Totally.
