直到片尾曲响起“Oh, I'm so lucky, you are my best friend / Oh, there's no one, there's no one who knows me like you do”, 我才开始爆哭,才开始理解你妈妈说的,这与她(你妈妈)无关,与我也无关。 -------------------------------- Rachel is awesome.
Rachel Amber, they could never make me hate you

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 16: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

It seems strange to be reviewing a game that came out over 7 years ago and which I've owned for 5 years but have only just completed. I'll try to explain why it's taken so long. I played - or perhaps "lived in" is a better description - the original Life is Strange game, with its main characters Max and Chloe, nearly 8 years ago and it was incredible. Even though it had the extraordinary mechanic of rewinding time to change outcomes, it felt emotionally like real people with real flaws in a real world making real and difficult decisions. When I finished the game, I showed it to my daughter who was home from university, and she played the whole of the first chapter; I bought another Steam copy of the game for her. Later on I purchased this game, Life is Strange: Before the Storm, in which the story takes place before the original Life is Strange. In this game, a bitter & distraught Chloe is self-destructing with the pain of Max's departure and the death of her own Dad. Rachel Amber, who was an absent but almost tangible (and often-mentioned) presence in Life is Strange, is a major character this time. Before the Storm does not have an unworldly time-changing mechanic; instead, Chloe can attempt to coerce another character into a particular action through aggressive arguing which turns others' statements against themselves. The problem for me was that I tried playing this game too soon after Life is Strange, when memories of the original were still too vivid and sharp. I just couldn't get into this new version of the world so I put this game aside for many years, only returning to it within the last month. And now, with muted and softened memories of the original game, Beyond the Storm drew me in as powerfully and completely as the original game had years before. The story lines (I won't spoil any part of the plot), the dialogue, the voice acting, and the overall immersion in the Before the Storm world, were all so good, powerful, and believable. The graphics are better than those of the original game, though dated by today's standards, but they did not jar nor make the world any less real for me. Before the Storm also has a short but very emotive bonus episode which takes Chloe and Max back to even earlier days of their childhoods. It was a long wait before I properly played Before the Storm but how worthwhile the wait was given my subsequent wonderful experience of this game.

Life Is Strange: Before the Storm feels like opening an old journal and finding pages you didn’t realize you needed. It trades the supernatural twists of the original for something quieter but just as powerful: the raw, messy honesty of being a teenager who’s hurting and trying to hold herself together. Chloe’s voice is sharper, funnier, and more vulnerable than ever, and her connection with Rachel Amber gives the story a spark that feels both fragile and electric. The game leans into small moments—awkward conversations, impulsive choices, stolen afternoons—and lets them matter. Its imperfections show, but so do its heart and courage. It’s a prequel that doesn’t just fill in blanks; it deepens everything that made Arcadia Bay worth caring about.
🎮 Reseña de Life is Strange: Before the Storm
