After Dashpong, Hyperslice and many action oriented jam games, I wanted to work on something more chill. I've been thinking about creating a word game for a while, and I'm super happy to explore a new direction with Lexispell. The goal is to make a small and cozy word game that can also be challenging for avid gamers.
I'm making this alone, with help from Trevron for the music, so don't hesitate to share and wishlist Lexispell!
I hope you'll enjoy :) - Eliptik

Get this if you like word games, Scratches a similar itch to wordle or crossword puzzles but in a unique way. Highly replayable with several different modes and lots of items you can collect and buy during a run. No two runs are the same. Gonna play every morning to warm up my brain
Je joue sur Linux. Version Linux : excellente.
Hardware : 5950x, AMD RX 6900XT, 64GB ram. Screens : Dualscreen, 1x 4K & 1x 1920x1200.
I really, really wish I could recommend this, but unfortunately I just can't. To start with the positive: the game is oozing with game juice. It's got very satisfying sound and visual effects, it's very soothing and looks super clean. A+ job to the dev in this department. Unfortunateöy where it kind of falls apart for me is in the gameplay itself. The inspiration from Balatro just feels too clear. There's a lot of mechanics taken straight from that game that don't really benefit this one. Then there's small things that are frustrating in this game itself, such as not being able to view or reorganize the letters in the cauldron. It's really hard to get an overview of your letters when they're all jumbled in the cauldron and can't be moved, leading to an annoying sensation of "I might have been able to spell a better word if only I could have had a better ovberview of what my letters were". I was really rooting for this one because it looks so charming (again, A+ job there), but sadly, it really isn't my spelling roguelike of choice.
Words! More Words! Over 26 different letters!!! BUILD YOUR OWN WORDS!!!! No, for real, I love the game. It's very fun. Have a good time, playing it.
A fun word game, the cauldreon mechanic is engaging and push your english vocabulary to find the best word with the tools you have! Really recommend!
it's too simple to be engaging, and it's full of bugs (letters disappearing from bag when you save, cursor disappearing, etc.). Sorry, but it's not engaging.
If you're a fan of word games, Lexispell is an easy recommendation. It combines spelling and vocabulary with roguelite progression in a way that feels both relaxing and rewarding. Looking forward to more dictionaries.
Wonderful game! It's like a mixture of Balatro & Scrabble. The graphics are really cute and the game feel is relaxing.
Such a smart simple idea to mix a word game with the Suika formula, surprised it didn't come along sooner. Great casual pick up and play that works well on controller so great on the Steam Deck if you're lucky enough to have one.
Une merveille au pays des mots, la France. Pour ma part d'habitude (très) peu joueur, je prends beaucoup de plaisir avec Lexispell. Le graphisme en lui-même et le look & feel d'action est particulièrement agréable. Je l'utilise notamment hors Steam et l'offre en ce moment à plusieurs amies.
