Put it on your wishlist, and wait until the bugs are fixed. Update 12/4: After the "full release" and many bugs fixed according to the change log, I tried to give the game another shot. Unfortunately, it now simply crashes after the startup intro. Also, it still says "early access" in the opening screen... so that's not encouraging. I feel like this game had a lot of passion put into it originally but in the latter half of development, when it's time to focus on bug fixes and polish, it seems the devs ran out of time, money, or energy and just pushed it out broken and unfinished. Original EA review: There's a solid game underneath here, but because the game is very tough, the bugs create a lot of frustration: - Sometimes, the UI just doesn't work -- buttons can't be clicked, or it freezes. Especially in the crafting menus. I ran into at least 4 variations of this, including the screen being greyed out as though a system menu was up. - Sometimes, the game will crash upon retry or when changing sectors. - When you retry, or continue (e.g. after a crash), often your armor and scanner are unequipped, or the mods are, which easily goes unnoticed until you get one-shot by a hunter's pistol. - Sometimes, you can be standing directly in front of a rat, swing at it with a longer range melee weapon, such as a sword, and it doesn't hit. Other times you can be hit from behind a hunter that's swinging. - If you try to dodge into a wall (e.g. when escaping), it'll sometimes cause your dodge to go into the complete opposite direction, which can result in a much worse situation than not having dodged at all. - Sometimes, seemingly after being hit by a flashbang or perhaps when looting lots of items quickly, you can't pick up items any more. They go on the ground as though you don't have space for them (regardless of whether you do), and passers by will pick up your items. Moving to a new sector doesn't fix this. Only restarting the application does. All that said, there's a very fun, very challenging game underneath it all. I kept beating my head against these bugs for the past few hours because I wanted to play the game underneath it. The various mechanics in the game play off each other well. Most games with hunger/thirst/disease/etc. tend to just become a slog: keeping the bars topped off is just an annoyance. Lethal Running seems to do a good job of making the management of these variables into actual gameplay, not just a chore. All-in-all, the bugs might be tolerable for early access if the game weren't so unforgiving otherwise. Due to roguelike instant-deaths and very limited retry options, the bugs go from annoying to game-breaking. I'll be happy to turn my thumbs-down into a thumbs-up once most of the bugs above are worked out.
★★★★★ ★★☆☆☆ 7/10 Punkte 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑⠀⠀⠀

Follow Main group
Follow Second group
Sounded promising, but the combat is just terrible and ruins the experience. Might have been better as turned-based combat. edit: Okay, so I played about 30 minutes and I fought some rats. Sometimes I'd click to attack and I'd miss constantly.. the frames don't seem right. Dodging doesn't feel right either. So, I tried using a controller instead of a mouse and it was even worse. Sorry man :( On the up-side, I like the idea a lot. But, I think either the combat needs to be tweaked or a change to turned-based combat might make things more manageable. Also, the art is pretty amazing. Nice pixelcraft :)
A cool theme with lots of small charming features that make it standout. Still suffers from some early access ruff edges, but has plenty of fun things that make it shine. Crafting, setting traps, surviving, stealing and evading those creepy, but cool hunters is a must to win! Grab it on sale and enjoy your time on the worlds deadliest game show.
Written By Hidden Gems Review : https://store.steampowered.com/curator/38624426/, Follow me!
Lethal Running is a RPG Roguelite game. Nice pixel art with a world very detailed and I tried to like it but I don't - - The game has his bugs and the gameplay feels off for me, mostly the melee part, and there are so many features for read and understand that in the end quitting the game for being so complicated with everything. Basically i'm saying this game isn't my type of game.
Die Idee hinter Lethal Running ist genial: Running Man als Roguelite. Darauf muss man erst mal kommen.
It's difficult, but it's been in development since 2015 and despite a lack of polish (it is in early access), it's got a very good vibe and a lot of potential. What it needs now is more people to play to help find bugs and give feedback and for that it needs some exposure. Definitely give this game a try if you want to get into something that has a ton of potential, it's got survival elements/old school charm and that feeling that if you stick out the difficulty and figure out how to survive, it could be a very rewarding and fun experience, not only to play but to watch talented players play. I'm not going to explain the game too much here, that's what the store page is for. All I can say is if you're on the fence, give it a chance. I think these people deserve it.
hmmm... the latest update was July 2nd, think the devs gave up on this one? still pretty fun though for a Rogue Like Running Man style
This game is downright awful. I was originally an alpha tester back before this game debuted on Early Access and tried my best to give the dev feedback (none of it was used) so I just sort of shrugged and hoped after "full release" the game owuld be fun. It sucks. You are some person, in some place, at some time, who was invited onto something called "the Show" which apparently people watch, allegedly. None of this is explained or makes any sense. But you have to travel from zone to zone while getting picked on by absolutely everybody, but you can't fight back because you will get downvotes. This of course does not stop everybody else from being downright awful towards you. You are hunted by "Hunters" who have extremely good equipment that will basically just wipe you out unless you cheese them with explosives. You can't fight them because the melee hit detection is bogus and ammunition for guns is basically nonexistant. Plus your armor runs on batteries that deplete every couple of minutes. So you have to warp to/from an industrial district every few minutes to stop enemies from 1-shotting you. The autosave is "on district", which is NOT the districts you go to, but the very large meta-areas surrounding them, meaning almost none of your progress in game gets saved. And you will get cheated out of your progress ALL THE TIME. I hated this game, go play Streets of Rogue instead. The dev responded and threw out a bunch of excuses, let's debunk them! 1: Notice how he makes it seem like making the game better is a bad idea that might not get used? This is one of the worst games on steam and he does not care. 2. Most people don't have too much to say or give tutorial hints, and half of the people in the game universe are hostile to you. 3.The entire game is running around slums, residents will frequently attack you randomly. 4. WHY!? WHY WOULD I GET DOWNVOTES!? I DEFENDED MYSELF! 5. The former requires money, which is only mostly gained by fighting hunters. Again ammo is super rare and the melee hit detection is god awful. 6. This is false information. Batteries run for about ten minutes, and if you have no energy your armor won't work. 7. This game is basically a low budget clone of Streets of Rogue.
