my friend didn't want to sit in the electric chair
I never particularly cared for the friendslop genre but PEAK & this game draw me in in a way the others don't. I would still say PEAK has the best bang for your buck considering the singleplayer experience is a lot more balanced/less frustrating but it's still nice that you can accomplish runs in this game solo with enough skill/luck. There's an actual server browser that allows you to play with randoms without having to lurk the forums like PEAK pushes you into doing. That being said, Lethal Company has a very charming visual style & incredibly fun proximity voice chat that reacts dynamically to the environment & creatively fascinating enemy types. You have to reactively change how you play because there are monsters listening to you. I've had a wonderful time with a large variety of people that was surprisingly consistently fun with few exceptions that you will usually learn how to spot. There's an annoying issue where a chunk of the playerbase doesn't actually engage with the game & instead treats it like VRChat, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the server list with lobbies of drug abusers & attention-seeking narcissists. I would love to host my own lobbies for vanilla players but the game staples a [MODDED] tag that kills your reach even if you only use bare minimum client-side playermodel swaps. The only people that join your lobby at that point will break the game with their mods at best & ruin your save file entirely at worst. An option to skip the random 5 minute long secret splash screens would also be appreciated. Zeekers pls. EDIT: I've now played in multiple lobbies with no [MODDED] tags where hosts were blatantly speedhacking, had godmode, & could teleport without using the teleporter item. These guys aren't forced to have tags on their lobbies for obvious cheats but I am for using cosmetic mods that keep gameplay entirely vanilla? This is ridiculous. Zeekers pls.
you know how many times i've seen my friends get snatched by a creature in the hallways

I LOVE THIS LETHAL COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great experience with a friend, but is frustrating upon dying and losing hours of progress. The learning style is trial and error, and it's not necessarily meant to be super fair; many times deaths feel like they're not your fault, and luck is a large factor in how easily you can get loot. Despite this, the cooperative fun compensates well, and results in a highly replayable experience when not taken too serious.
SO PEAK(be wary of giant spider)
