Even in the alpha, this game is a blast to play. If you ever liked the old-school pokemon games, you'll probably get to love this too. I myself have spent 20 something hours just going around and exploring, trying to discover some of the things the devs have put into the game, and I still haven't found them all, even post-'campaign'. Looking at the hints i've seen though, there's a lot to look forward to! Can't wait for the full release.
The game is pretty fun. My only complaint is that I wish animals were stronger. But the mechanics are interesting and gameplay is good.

Two things: Firstly this game is weird as hell in a good way and secondly it vastly exceeded my expectations in depth and polish. I really expected something janky, fun and a bit dodgy kinda like Monster Crown 1. This is not that, it's hella fun but hella polished. Everything is well balanced, detailed, and tactical, fun side quests and puzzles too. There's a lot of content! I thought this game would be really basic like just me and my gladiators fighting but it goes way further beyond that and there's even monster catching and fusions. It's also very unpredictable which is hard to find once you've been gaming for a long time. This is honestly a 10/10 game for me but I will say that it does have one caveat. I would highly recommend reading the game guide when starting the game. It's a beautiful pdf that looks like an old style GBC manual. It saves a bit of frustration of trial and error at the beginning if you consult the guide for the basics. Some of it is explained in the game but the PDF allows you to read in further detail if you're a bit confused. I would also recommend joining the discord for more specific questions. The community is super friendly and patient and they reply queries way faster than most games I've played. I'm honestly very impressed by how much the community and creators care about people having an enjoyable gaming experience. Thank you so much for giving me such a fun experience :)
It is a very nice little game with surprising amount of dense content. This is the game you play if you want to go back to the time when you played Pokemon read and blue. And I mean "go back" as this actually plays like a GB game. It has some more quality of life functions (fast travel, checking what moves do in battle) but largely, this is a game in which you get stronger by moving through random encounters, by finding gear and little secrets in the world and by slowly understanding a somewhat arcane battle (and later fusing) mechanic that is not always perfectly explained. And I mean that in a good way. Just imagine you are a child again in a time without guides. The game is very rewarding both when you get stronger and when you find out some new secret. Try to beat it on your own wits and just look whether you can make it. That is the oldschool hardcore appeal and I am here for it.
I like THIS game.
Great old-school fun, solid combat, simple and fun soundtrack and the world exploration has loads of secrets to find by intuiting or piecing together hints. An example without giving any spoilers - If you're walking through any given area and say to yourself "one of these things is not like the other", chances are that is intentional and something to investigate instead of being a red-herring. GLORY OR DEATH!
Very fun. I like that it doesn't hold your hand and makes you learn how to play by simply talking to npcs or reading books. Just like an old school game.
I straight up am having a fun time with Letalis. You create your main character and they recruit gladiators to fight, most of your fights will be either random battles or paid for in-town battles (which are safe from permadeath) but the permadeath mechanic is not the end of the world in Letalis, it's not difficult for a new gladiator to catch up (including animals you can catch in random encounters), also gladiators have classes and it's important to keep an eye on their gender for two classes only, the Valkyrie and Templar. Everything else is for everyone else, but it's not necessarily bad to have a male valkyrie or female templar, there's other good reasons to have them. Get the game, for the price ($12.00 CAD) you are getting a good time, I'd pay up to $20.00 for this. I also like the idea to make the game in gameboy graphics!
