Let's Explore The Jungle with Buzzy is an ancient family friendly 1988/DOS era point and click "game" running on Steam thanks to the ScummVM engine. I use the quotes around the word "game" because this is more of a childrens multimedia interactive educational software piece, allowing kids to click on various elements of a jungle and learn about nature with a few short dictionary entries and pictures for various jungle related animals and environments. This game is over 25 years old, it's ancient. 4:3, fixed resolution (looks like VGA). Weirdly, the devs have patched it from time to time, but this is really like putting lipstick on the skeleton of a pig that died long ago. I know that's not all that nice to say, but these guys are charging a whopping $7 USD for this, when you can play free games for kids, with much higher quality, in browsers or mobile, so how could anyone consider paying for this? This is just some attempt to cash in on some old abandoned kids game. It's really not cool.
This was my favorite of the three Junior Field Trips games growing up. I've always had a love for animals and animal media, and this surely contributed to that. There's a ton of neat things this game highlights in the same style of the previous two titles, and yet it almost feels like more effort went into this one. That said, there are the occasional quirks like how they never use the word "venom" and only say "poison," which is usually incorrect and those are two different words for a reason. In a more humorous case, they never use the word "predator" in this game, only "enemy." There's something kind of charming about that in a way. Overall, this is a great tool to get kids interested in learning about animals, reading, and spending some time either on their own or with their parents being curious. The arts and sounds in this game are wonderfully realized and it's all very engaging. Speaking of, the activities and games are pretty decent for what they are. The Find-It game continues to be a highlight for the series, tasking you to hunt down various objects, animals, etc. It's fun. The Ant Feeder game where you eat bugs and also picnic food for some reason is a cute, fun little thing. All in all, I think this is well worth sharing with your kids. I certainly appreciated having this growing up, and it left quite an impact on me both in terms of my interests and in a general learning sense. I recommend picking this up on sale and ideally as part of either the Junior Field Trips Complete Pack or the Humongous Entertainment Complete Pack.

A game obviously meant for children, but has enough entertainment value that you wouldn't wish you were doing something else as you play this with your kid.

Why are there no cannibalistic Amazonian tribes??? Anyway 1855448654/10
Fantastic low-stimulation game for kindergarteners! Played it as a kid, and unironically learned a ton about the rainforest.
This is basiclly the computer game equivalent of a look and find book.
