«Legends of Solitaire: Diamond Relic»
I really enjoy multiple solitaire games made by The Revills Games group. I have played through multiple times their Chef Solitaire: USA and their Santa's Christmas Solitaire 1 & 2 (which I get out to go through every Christmas season for some mindless fun)! This game has solitaire twists like power ups and mini games and you can choose your game play out of 3 available play modes. What stands out to me in their games is the great artwork and soundtrack that accompanies their games narratives. I really wish they would include a art gallery of their art or a wallpaper gallery as a bonus in game for those of us who appreciate the artwork and want to enjoy it on our monitors. Really big shout out to the artists! All of their games have run smooth for me on ultra wide monitor with no crashes or bugs found. This company really cares about how they present their solitaire games in general with attention to the art, story and function. Looking forward to their future games! ❤️
(Update: Finally finished this game... HOORAY!!!) You will be playing this game for A LONG TIME! Especially if you are going for all quadruple stars. So good work on making a really, really, really long content card game! Oh and nope... At 10 Hours... You still wont be done. At 10 Hours... I am only half way done! There are different modes... So if you don't like the "Up, Down", you can pick from two others. Difficulties? Yes! But I think they only affect the "special card" drops. Eventually you will see this game so much that anytime a character appears on the screen... Instead of their names, it will be "Oh hey, that's Queen!" Or "Hey! That's the number 2 card!" So don't over do it. Play at your own leisure. Is it fun? You know how some games take you away from reality and make your brain shut up for a while? It's like that. It isn't the easiest card game I ever played... But... I am still coming back to it every time I want to... Because I just can't not finish it and figure out if they find the Relic or not! Yes, there is a story line and yes, there are battles. Nope, you don't have to do battles if you aren't good at them or just don't feel like it. Oh and if you want power ups to use for both card games + battles = there are two pages worth... Still going! Thank you for this lengthy and mind numbing (in a good way) game!!! <3 :) =)
This would have been an enjoyable Solitaire game, if those damn mini games would not have kept popping up during matches. That was very annoying. There are much better solitaire games out there. GO play those.
This is a lovely mix of solitaire and mini games. Graphics are crisp and clear, control is smooth. There are 20 levels, with 10 rounds, interspersed with mini-games. At the end of the level there's a turn-based card battle. You need X amount of stars to unlock the next level, but if you don't have enough you can go back and replay individual rounds. You earn up to 4 Stars per round, with 4 being perfect and 1-3 based on how many cards remain. Coins are earned by clearing tiers, removing cards with coin icons on them and matching same suit cards. Coins can be spent in the shop for power-ups. You can "equip" a maximum of 5 power-ups, but some of them are passive and won't use up slot space. Various Obstacles are added as you progress, and you need to find special cards to deal with them. There are the usual wild cards and you get 1 undo per round. There are 3 game modes; the standard 1 up/1 down, Match 2 and Make 14 (2 cards add to 14). At the beginning of a level you can change modes. I like this; it's been fun to mix things up, and good exercise for the brain! I personally find Match 2 and Make 14 very challenging to get 4 stars, so if I'm short of them I play a level or two in 1 up/down mode to store them up! I love card battles! Here, you are equipped with weapon and healing cards. The more cards you remove during your turn, the faster your equipped cards charge up. Early on, your opponents are weak, but they get stronger in later levels. At the beginning of a level there's a hidden object scene. Mini-games are Match 3, Memory and Find the Diamond card. This is where cards shuffle around (fast) and you (try to) remember the location of the Diamond. You can customise the game any which way you fancy, enabling/disabling mini games and mini game timer; enabling/disabling hidden objects; disable card battles or change to a simple battle mode. There's also an in-game option to skip mini games and battle rounds. There are different card fronts/backs to choose and a selection of cursors. There are bonus card games which you can access any time - Freeplay, Tri-Peaks and Five-Peaks. You can play these in any of the 3 game modes. There's so much going on in this game that I'm sure I've forgotten something. But never mind - it scratches my itch just perfectly!
Amplio, económico y entretenido. El juego tiene muchas horas de entretenimiento. ╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱ ╱╱┏╮╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱ ╱╱┃┃╱╱╱┳╱┓┳╭┫┳┓╱ ▉━╯┗━╮╱┃╱┃┣┻╮┣╱╱ ▉┈┈┈┈┃╱┻┛┛┻╱┻┻┛╱ ▉╮┈┈┈┃╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱ ╱╰━━━╯╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱╱
While I found the battle levels in Santa's Christmas Solitaire 2 to be a refreshing evolution of the formula for the Revills, approaching the complexity of some of the Grey Alien solitaire releases, the Revills have somewhat rested on their laurels with this release. Although it still includes these battles, It's basically identical to Santa's Christmas Solitaire 2, with a traditional fantasy theme instead of a Christmas holiday theme. Oddly enough, this release seems to include fewer mini-games, removing the Pipe Dream mini-game that I found rather enjoyable. For some reason, the rationale for some of the battle levels in the game seemed more strained to me than in Santa's Christmas Solitaire 2. There were short dialogues between the protagonists and the enemies beforehand that never made much sense to me. If you've enjoyed solitaire games by the Revills in the past, you'll likely enjoy this one as well. You definitely know what you're in for: generally interesting level layouts, mundane mini-games, and a nice variety of active and passive abilities (with achievements again tied to some of the worst offerings). A comment towards the end of the game alludes to other relics, so there may be Legends of Solitaire games for years to come :)
I love solitaire games and this one has lots of options. You can choose decks (front and back), cursors, and types of solitaire to play. If you don't want the mini games, etc., turn them off. The game boosts help and can really tailor how you want to play your game. With solitaire, I don't care about the highest score, I want relaxing, fun play with gorgeous artwork and this game is all that. It's my go-to game when I want to chill.
