There's a lot of great things in this game, from thematics and music to overall systems. The issue comes in towards the middle of Act 2, where progression starts being locked behind challenges that run counter to those systems. If all these challenges were for legendary items or gold, there'd be no issue, but when skill points are being locked behind challenges like "Complete this level without fielding any units" in a game entirely built around fielding units to hold lanes, you start running into an issue. You can leave those points on the table and push forward, but the game continues to scale and those points become sorely missed. Some of these challenges include not using war tactics (Buffs you unlock for your units as they level up) not using your own hero's passive skills (Unlocked from investing in specific stats to break points), and not using active skills associated with specific gear slots. Again, if all these challenges that run counter to the systems as implemented were for trivial rewards and achievements it'd be one thing, but they actively hamper character progression and cause you to be weaker as you progress through the campaign. In the end you're incentivized to grind out levels dozens of times to fish for upgrades that let you dps check levels, grind out gold to over-level your troops, and overcome those challenges through brute force instead of any measure of tactics or skill. On the whole, there's still plenty to praise about this game, so if the above doesn't seem like an issue to you, and the overall idea sounds appealing, it may still be well worth your time to give it a try. I personally can't recommend it however, because the challenge system detracted so much from my enjoyment of the game.
No response, no help nothing for bug that prevents New Mode + Completed Campaign Selected New Mode+ Chapter 1 Mission 1 Wave 7 stuck at end of Wave It never goes to Wave 8 Game is still running. Can still use Helm, Shield, etc... Stam still goes up but never progress after Wave 7 (end wave) Spacebar does not make it end and it just keeps "flashing" in perpetuity. I've left the game running for 30 minutes and still the wave icon in upper right is just flashing Validated all 305 files running v1.9.20 This pattern is repeatable each time. Repeated it 4 times in a row. Then rebooted PC, re-validated 305 files and tried again 5th time same issue.
Bad difficulty curve where it requires grinding over playing.
Wow, where to start? This game in itself is really good! The artstyle, the music, the enemy variants and tower customisations are all really done right and well! That is why I have to recommend this game. The fact that You can turn of the heavy metal boss music is a very welcome feature! Thanks a lot for adding this! ;) Now the negative: This game is like the Dark Souls of Lane Defense Games. Whenever You think You might have finally figured out a good and working strategy the next level shows You how very wrong You thought. There are extreme sudden difficulty spikes. Do Yourself a big favour: Turn on peaceful mode, let some enemies get through - and don't grind! It's not necessery. Just complete the side missions on each chapter and You are good to go. All in all I did enjoy the experience and the ambiance and the whole package. ;) I managed to unlock all achievements in about 17 hours playtime. Good gaming everyone! - Mike
This is actual asscheeks
funny damge, but no update long time maybe deadgame
Slightly Under-cooked; Still Acceptable Legendary Hoplite is kinda of a hard game to define since its a little bit of a bunch of genres. Fairly strategy light, Action-RPG tower defense-ish with randomized loot drops. Unfortunately, its fairly repetitive and unfinished in some ways. I see a bunch of reviews saying the excessive grinding/replaying levels is required. I did not find this to be the case playing each level on normal difficulty (which you can adjust on the fly at level select if you choose). Maybe a handful of times you go back to a previous level to complete a niche challenge mission that you didn't get on the first pass. Maybe if you are working with the wrong team setups or get some bad drops this could be the case but wasn't my experience. Gameplay wise, the game tries to force you away from a specific team composition every now and then with a challenge mission that restricts which troops you can use; but overall I found you use the same team every mission and deploy them in the same way every time. This in-turn makes the game feel repetitive in some respects; thankfully since you control your main character in combat that helps in this regard. Active & Passive player skills are attached to the equipment (each of the 4 equipment slots having one skill); instead of being an un-lockable asset. I found this to be annoying since it complicates the equipment upgrade process since some skills are WAY better then others. The game offers a way to craft items combining 3 of the same type which helps a little in this regard but you'll be keeping a ton of trash items in your inventory as a result (which obviously is its own problem). On top of that the crafted items are rariety limited in the amount of affixes you are allowed to attach so a good dropped item is almost always better. Regarding the unfinished/broken aspects of the game we have the following. There are set items in the game but I don't think they were ever fully implemented. You will get a few of them as quest rewards but I don't think there is anyway to acquire more of them. The Item compare color coding does not work correctly. Sometimes it will highlight red when in fact the new items stats for that category are actually higher and vise versa. Moreover, you will have to calculate weapon DPS manually to truly compare since only damage high/low range and attack speed are shown. Moreover, certain stats are not even shown on the hero stats page (Example: Movement speed), and some are not explained. I also encountered a bug where one where the level would not complete after finishing the final wave of enemies. Navigating some of the UI with a controller is a bit awkward. With some buttons/areas being tricky to figure out how to select. Concluding I still recommend it, but understand it sits squarely in just-okay territory. Too many little nuances adding up against it and a lack of special sauce to propel it to the next level.
出bug了,游戏更新后,二周目的关卡都会卡怪,玩不了
Gave it a shot despite the other reviews. It's as they said: very grindy. Which wouldn't be bad if the game itself was actively fun.. but it's also not much fun as the missions go from far too easy to impossible in a second.
