i was kinda expecting the game to run better than how it is. i definitely see potential in it, but i think it needs some more work on running smoothly. (at least on weaker computers, as mine sucks.) i do see this going somewhere though!
I think the game play is pretty enjoyable until i get to the point where there are too many mobs and it lags my screen so bad i have to exit the game, there needs to be less mobs that spawn end game or a setting i can turn on to remove effects/lag
This is a fun little coffee-break game for when you don't have a lot of time, but want to kill baddies. It reminds me a little of In Celebration of Violence without all of the progression.
Loving the game, it's unfortunate that the developer is going through hard times atm. I will continue playing and enjoying this until I see the full release. Has a similar fun game play loop like what you would find in Dead Cells, Tiny Rogues, or other indie roguelikes. Support the dev, buy the game, and get hooked.
WORKS ON STEAM DECK! Have only played for +/- 15 mins but it ran great. Will post a longer review once I have some more time in the game, but am already enjoying myself a lot!
Game has made no significant changes between the demo and EA release. Feels like it's an empty shell of what a full game would be, and gets boring after the first 20min or so. Supposedly there's "consequences" to choices you make (aka which NPCs you kill), but I have yet to see them. The only "consequence" so far has been free upgrades from killed shops. Maybe in the future when things are fleshed out and bugs squished (game crashes when you try to sell to NPCs) it may be worthwhile, but it's not even worth picking up on the current 40% discount. Refunded.
after less than an hour, I think it's safe to say I'll be wasting a good amount of time on this game. but my main reason for writing a review is to beg the developers... For the love of Pete I beg of you, when the time comes for a sequel, go all out and use the graphics from the title screen, it's absolutely PERFECT. Yes, I want you to base the entirety of your next game off the title screen of your current game... Well I don't really care how long it takes, just do it! ...Look, if you didn't want me pestering you about this, then you shouldn't have made such a beautiful title screen. NOW GET TO WORK!!!!

Bought this after being a big fan of nuclear throne and wanting something in that sort of realm. The game is still pretty early and needs some work, but it's got some good ideas and I like the art style, pace and combat. Few thing's i'd like to see: Some sort of unlock system, it would seem the dev doesn't want meta progression and that's fine, but something like Gungeon or NT where you unlock new characters and items from playing the game would be good. Corpses dealing damage and flying around like NT. Perhaps a unique ability for each character outside of passives. I know the level-ups are clearly placeholder somewhat, but more variety and interesting choices would be nice. Map generation is a little 'jagged' and weird in some respects and sometimes is annoying to move around. Also could be generally more open than it is currently. Not sure how I feel about the dragon, I'm on the fence.
