Reviews
Game is absolute trash, do not believe the multiple likely fake reviews otherwise. Jumps don't always work, third power is unusable, translation is terrible, frames drop, enemies fall through the floor, etc. Absolutely boring and repetitive game play and asking way too much for the experience given.
Warning: Asset Flip! "Legend of Chilli Tree" is an asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated someone else's example/template/tutorial game, changed the name/reskinned a couple of things with stolen tilesets and generated sprites, and submitted it to Valve as if it was their own game.
This asset flip is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game features simple, cartoony 2D graphics, of the type you normally expect to see in low effort mobile apps. 3D graphics programming does require a degree of skill and competence and unfortunately not all developers have the budget or talent to deliver this, despite 3D graphics cards hitting the mainstream in the 1990's. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. "Legend of Chilli Tree" didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the game, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for attacking 100 times, trivial to get, but less than 13 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. Hardly a success story, gamers just weren't all that interested in the game.
Warning: Review Manipulation! This game features a HUGE number of fake positive reviews from accounts known to be in the business of review manipulation/paid reviews. They're all written in either Russian or broken English, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product.
"Legend of Chilli Tree" is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
I wanted new sensations and suddenly stumbled upon a game. Looked interesting and decided to give it a try. The game dragged on in earnest and I literally fell into it for hours. The gameplay is engaging and every new battle is just something. For fans of unusual action, I highly recommend giving it a try.
Legend of Chilli Tree is a 2D story-based game. In addition to an interesting story, the combat system plays an important role in it, and it's done to a high standard. It's also a pleasure to play thanks to the beautiful locations and varied battles. I highly recommend you give it a try!
wow, samurai platformer. The game released recently, but there are no similar plaftormers, except perhaps Terraria mods. The soundtrack is atmospheric. A lot of ideas for future updates. I hope devs won't abandon their project.
Such a perky roguelike with a good design and a groundwork for the plot. Of course, trying to play the keyboard was a big mistake, so I couldn't touch the content much, but everything looks nice.
All in all, a good 2D adventure game in which you have to explore and fight, with a spicy storyline and beautiful landscapes. And, of course, plenty of deadly chili peppers. Combinations, jumps and tricks - there are no equal battles. Expect: furious and cunning enemies, special chili weapons, interesting locations inspired by real places.
That's okay. In some game moments, it's not clear what needs to be done, but it's real to figure it out xD
The game does not require a powerful PC and it's just wonderful
If you are a fan of good indie, then this game is clearly worth trying. Despite being overpriced, the gameplay is pretty good.
