Leaving Home—who knew stepping outside could be this complicated?
Cute game, I love the art style and quirky puzzles and like most of Bonte games the music is fun too. I've been a fan of Bart Bonte games for years. Most of his games I've played on a phone or ipad or websites but I'm super happy to see his game on Steam. Hope to see more :)
7/10 Another short puzzle game from Bart Bonte, about trying to leave your home. What is it: A point & click puzzle game. The premise is that you’re trying to leave home early in the morning, so you have to find your clothes, make up your face, eat breakfast, convince the cat to let you go, all these as instructionless puzzles. Given that you’re trying to exit your house, I could even say it’s an escape room game. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3502783516 Each room has one or more puzzles, but they are all embedded in the room, you’re not presented with an obvious level (most of the time), and you’re not explicitly told what to do. There’s a mirror in the bathroom, what can you see in it? There are three chairs in the kitchen, what do they mean? There’s a TV in the living room, can you find the remote? All this is pretty linear, just figure out what you can interact with, what is the end goal, click on it until you solve the puzzle, then either get out of the room or find the next puzzle if the door didn’t unlock. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3502787713 Until you reach the last room, the hallway, in which you are given four vague clues and you have to go back and forth and figure out what the clues mean. Once you finish the game, you get access to a free play version of one of the most used puzzle types in the main game, turning tiles to make patterns, but this time you’re free to make whatever designs you want. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3502791439 It’s a short and fairly easy game, but it’s a nice one, perfect for a short relaxation session. How hard is it: Easy, ★☆☆☆☆. How long is it: 8 rooms, 20-60 minutes. Quality: Basic, but decent. Hints. Mouse only controls. Very few settings. No cloud saving, but given how short the game is, there’s no need. Achievements, including a few easy to miss ones. Small, fast and responsive. Worth the price: A bit expensive for such a short game, but you can play it for free on a phone. But I do like to support Bart so he makes more games. Tuesday is usually a busy day for me, so of the games released today, I chose this one, which seemed short and relaxing. It took about an hour in the end, although it could have been faster if I had used hints. Some of the puzzles were not obvious and took longer. Most of the puzzles involved playing with patterns, and by the end, we had the option to draw using those patterns of shapes. I found it interesting and enjoyable, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes these kinds of short game.
This is quintessential Bart Bonte. It's relaxing, slightly challenging here and there, and fun. All Bontegames have his unique signature feel and this one delivers it with charm. It's a richer experience than his prior work, and a bit more daring artistically. But his familiar pattern matching, object sorting, and clue reading are all there. The game has an excellent funky sound track that varies from room to room. It's also nice to see a casual game like this one that actually does call for returning to previously encountered spaces and props. A lot of the bigger efforts don't do that, but it can make a game much more fulsome and it does in this case. Really a crowning achievement for this artist. Play is short, but the low price is worth it. Definitely recommended
this one suffered from a lack of substance - a brief puzzle game that, by its shortage on challenge, storytelling, surprise, comes off as slight. the art is nice! but every puzzle took only a few seconds to solve (at most), and a lot of them took a while to execute the solutions of, which i find to be a poor combination. on that last point, see (for example) the recurrent 'tile rotation' mechanic, which requires no mental work to figure out but takes some time to 'execute' the solution of. as said previously, the visuals are neat, but the game design was dull, thin, insufficient. also, 'puzzle maestro' might be a bit strong of a name for bart bonte. i respect a lot of his work but also think that his design is far from cutting edge. he makes mac-and-cheese games - familiar and pleasant, thus never surprising or 'new'. but, do what one must. the 'puzzle teasers' for the game on its steam page are really clever, i might steal this idea myself.
沙发! 一小时打完了,轻松愉快,画风好看,谜题也还不错。
Visually intriguing, nice tunes, fair challenge, short and sweet. Definitely worth playing.
Cool short point and click game
