Lawnmower Game 2: Drifter

Labeling Lawnmower Game 2: Drifter as an actual game is an exaggeration. The first Lawnmower game was bad enough and was a joke to even release it. Coming out with a sequel is just beating a dead horse.

Lawnmower Game 2: Drifter is where the core mechanics really start to define the series, and being cheaper than both its predecessors AND successors, it is definitely worth the price. I cannot recommend this game more if you're looking for a gateway into the Lawnmower Game community. The only thing that would make this polished gem even more precious is Steam achievements, but with in-game time trials, there's something to work towards even without them.

Look, this game is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. It runs awfully at times, it looks awful and it gives almost no explanation for things. The freeplay area is literally just some lowpoly hills and broken water. However, the time trials and survival mode were genuinely kinda fun for the short amount of time that I played. Once I found out that the survival mode levels actually did have finish points and weren't about "surviving", I did my best to go and actually finish them all which was surprisingly kinda fun. The time trials aren't as fun as the survival mode is, and they run worse. The turbo mechanic is weird and clunky, the health system is really dumb and the fact that the restart button doesn't work is kinda a bummer but otherwise you can really try your hardest at beating the first place times. Touching water despawns the lawnmower in the time trial mode and they only way to make the game work again is alt+f4 and restart. The music is super bad and half the levels don't actually have music that plays. Most of the settings don't change anything at all. which is fine cause after changing the settings, they're back to what they were previously when you check anyways. For the price? It's an hour of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around and laughing. Don't go into it expecting anything too good.
