Lawless West

Greetings to those who stumbled upon this review. This game clearly belongs to the Tower Defence genre, where we have to defend our wasteland from various cutthroats (yes, it's a Western-style game). The visual style of the game appealed to me (the retro style suits this game, bringing back memories of Fallout 1). Here we have to literally defend ourselves against bandits who will stop at nothing. Locations can be as small (bits and pieces) as they can be large (literally a settlement). I can't say that in terms of difficulty levels it is difficult. Not at all. In general, those people who often play tower defense, those can easily make up tactics for those or other opponents I can recommend this game to those who love the Tower Defence genre and don't mind admiring the retro style.

Game in genre Tower Defence made in the style of Westerns Wild West, in which we have to defend own main base, all available to us methods. At our disposal will be available various fighters with a variety of specializations, which in turn, have levels of development of their skills, so the timely upgrading of characters and their competent location on the game map, will bring us to the desired success and victory. All we have to do is to watch the colorful battles and calculate the tactical options for future battles. A nice bonus in the game, will be changing day and night, as well as changing weather conditions. An excellent game for a pleasant pastime after a hard day's work.

Надо навести порядок в этом месте… При этом порядок требуется навести по полной программе, помимо борьбы с бандитами, а именно: Бандитов всевозможных, конечно же, к важным объектам надобно не пускать; а ещё солдат разных надобно обучить; вооружение солдат улучшить; задания выполнить; даже мусор убрать во благо нашего края, ну и подлечивать своих и учиться всё-всё-всё делать эффективнее. Ох, дел действительно полно, много всего сделать необходимо руководителю и есть, где разгуляться навыкам управленца, а я тут расписался… Всё, ушёл спасать страну дальше!

Игра "защита башен" в стиле Дикого Запада. Разные типы воинов позволят вам разработать собственную стратегию защиты от волн врагов. Также есть различные миссии. Игра смесь нескольких жанров. Осталось мультиплеер подключить и будет огонь.

Lawless West is a well put-together and not an overly challenging Tower Defense game. Go through waves of enemies and defend your city. You go from level to level via an over world map. You’re given a location that features one or more paths that your enemies will take, and you spend your money to set up friendly units that destroy enemies before they reach their destination. You’ll need to have effective strategy on every map. Some enemies are quite fast, so you’ll need to have placed plenty of costly sharpshooter units about, and you’ll also need to try to hit some enemies from far away. Not a bad game for the tower defense fans.

You play as their leader and have to manage the team of highly skilled members, using their different abilities to bring order throughout the US of A. You begin in Carson City, armed bank robbers are robbing the local bank, sooner or later they’re going to break out and make their escape. The enemy’s starting point is indicated by a red icon with a couple crossed pistols on it, the escape point for them is a blue shield icon with a star upon it. In between the start and end is a pathway which the enemy will follow, there could be multiple paths in which the enemy will travel along as they try to reach their goal. Along the path at various points are round blue icons with sheriff badge upon them. This is where you can place your units, you have your Deputy Sheriff, Gunfighter, Grenadier Fireworker and Sniper. These units will attack the oncoming enemy, although when they are first placed, they aren’t very strong but with the defeating of enemy or the collection of gold from gold mines you will be able to upgrade your units. Sometimes instead of the enemy moving around the screen it will be a convoy that you must protect as they move from the entrance to the exit. You can upgrade your units several times transforming them in too much stronger units. Gunfighters will upgrade to gatling guns while the Grenadier will upgrade to cannons, these upgrades will make it a bit easier than what you first start with, especially as the rounds in each level progress with more and more enemies. As leader you also have the ability to join the battle with the use of some skills which can be found on the left side of the screen. You can replenish health with the First Aid Kit, Elusive Joe adds a gunfighter anywhere you want to place one, Firebomb will firebomb the enemy, Powder Rockets attacks the enemy with rockets, Caltrops can be placed in the path of enemies to slow them down. Grenades and Shrapnel will inflict damage to the enemy. If you visit the Workshop, you can increase each of these abilities, damage, radius and number of caltrops, shrapnel etcetera. These will cost you some gold to increase their status. You can also increase the stats of your units by increasing their Damage, Rate (of fire), Action Radius, Critical Hit Chance and Critical Damage. You can collect status skills from defeating a level or you can buy them from the store. You can add them to a unit type in the Workshop, here you can also increase the level of any of the status by combining two of the same value. This will increase the status skills to the next level up, so combining two level six skills of the same type will become one level seven skill. It will cost you some gold so that you can combine two skills and any skills that you don’t want you can sell for a few gold coins. You are able to gain some extra gold through the completion of missions, you can also gain status chips as well from some missions. You’ll have to keep a butchers on the rewards board and collect any rewards which await you from completing a mission. Completing a level will reward you with some gold, weapon upgrade skills and one to three sheriff stars depending on how well you did. Upon completing a level, it will then allow you to move on to the next level. In the settings there’s only a few options, Music and Sound On/Off, Full Screen, Reset Progress and Languages, English, Korean, Russian, German, French, Spanish and Chinese. The graphics are good and the game so far has run without any problems, no lag or freezing or anything like that. I have hit a wall in the game, the enemy just overcomes my units with ease, there are just too many of them coming from multiple paths in which they easily take out my units. You can replenish the health of the units but at times it seems like it did nothing at all. If you lose the units then you cannot replace them straight away, the placement turns into a mine where you can dig for gold. After a while it may return to a placement for your units but by the time this happens then it is too late, it is either game over or there are even more enemies moving along the path which just totally destroy you again. You just don’t seem to have enough units to deal with the number of enemies which come in a constant stream after a couple rounds of a level, even if you do fully upgrade your units to their maximum level. It might be that I need to grind a bit more but it gets very frustrating playing the same level over and over again and getting nowhere. I don’t mind a challenge but you must have at least some hope in being able to move forward, otherwise you soon lose interest and the game could be fun with a few tweaks. RPG strategy about the wild west in real time. Lots of jokes, 120 fps on any computer, a great story that you will dream about later - in a word, a hidden gem. I recommend it.
