Lathe Safety Simulator

A good teaching tool for someone about to use a lathe. Good practice so that you don't lose a finger or something. I had to take a manufacturing class and we had to do this in real life and it was pretty much the same process.

Can't really complain about the models and textures (especially since its free). The basic lathe controls are there like the crossslide and carriage handwheel and even the tailstock controls for drilling. Good enough for teaching safety. I've never used a vacuum to clean chips though, and i noticed the spindle runs reverse in the game. The bar would be hitting the bottom of the cutting tool first... Still entertaining to shove your hands into the chips or the spindle and hear the screams.

I was playing this and I fell and hurt myself IRL. 10/10 first VR workplace injury.

Lathe Safety Simulator is a free VR program. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. The narrator tells you what to do and hightlights the relevant parts in lathe safety tutorial. The narrator says " say help or repeat " but that don't work. Lot harder than it looks, maybe better if you actually know what you are doing. Try it and delete it.

Definitely the best lathe simulator game I've ever played! Wonder why ;)
