The game was interesting, its like an older school gameplay but if you like puzzles and searching alone in a forest you will enjoy this one ... https://youtu.be/0bRmlr1LYOg
This game was WAY better than I thought it was going to be, especially for like 6 bucks on sale. The atmosphere is great, the story, its all good stuff and it is so SCARY, I LOVE it. My only issue is I've spent almost an hour looking for that damn pumpkin, I have looked EVERYWHERE and I cannot find a beast with a pumpkin on its head. I'm not sure where I'm missing it but I'm gonna keep looking!
The game had its creepy moments but I was not too amazed. It's a mediocre, very bland and random horror game that could have been better if it wasn't so chore-like, like go from A to B from B to C etc, for everything you need to progress basically. The story is also poorly conveyed to the player. If we can call it story... The ending was very disappointing as weIl. Ok, I liked the idea, but not the execution. I also liked the night sounds of crickets tho, and I liked walking trough the corn fields. I also liked how we could basically climb any slope outside in the forest and the flashlight was decent too. Good atmosphere, if we close an eye to the outdated graphics where everything looks squared and low-poly. But well, these were the highlights of the game for me. Based on the credits at the end lots and lots of people have worked on this game, but it really looks and feels like a single developer made this game. Would I recommend it? No, not really.
Spoko horror. Polecam :)
I won't say this is a bad game because it's not. But some of the gameplay is aggravating. The walking speed is incredibly slow, enemies appear out of thin air and can hit you without being close to you. Enemies only show up when you have a task to do. I ran all over the woods and didn't see anything until I had to find rocks or get over the fence. There was a wolf glitched in the well that hit me everytime I went to grab the key. Made the task take forever because each hit almost killed me and regaining health happens too slow. You never have enough herbs to heal. The compass is weird, I did better opening the map repeatedly instead of trying to follow it's destination marker that keeps changing directions. Runtime is padded by scattering items and keys all over the world. I never get the logic of games that do this. For example, why is the key to my bedroom closet 20 miles away on some random bookshelf in a gas station. { Again, that's an example. It's not in this game. } I found a crowbar but couldn't use it to to break some wood, but it worked on a steel gate because "logic". There are openings that you can fit through to cross over to new parts of the map but the game makes you walk all the way around. I could go on with some nit picky stuff but... I think I'm going to watch the rest of the game on youtube. I want to see the ending but I don't want to play anymore. This would barely get a 3 out of 5 imo. The $10 price is the saving grace. If it were higher I'd say stay away. Should be $7.99 for what it is tho.
I was very surprised by this game. It has a unique visual style that is easy on the eyes and makes anything you are searching for very easy to spot. The enemies arent any AAA monsters but they get the job done. Got me with a couple of jumpscares... which there arent that many, dont worry. This is like an open world horror game. Just dont try to do things out of sequence ;) and thats not a bad thing. I never even realized it was sequence locking until I decided to just explore and see what I could find. If you follow the clues and the story, its all seamless and works very well. It is an illusory open world in that the story is quite linear. BUT!! Throughout the map are secret areas. I should have done some more exploring because there were a fair amount of areas I never discovered on my first playthrough... does it warrant and compel me to play again? Well... yeah! I quite enjoyed this game and I really liked the story. I have a feeling maybe there are different ending? Im not sure... but I put in about 4 hours to complete the game but I didnt see alot of stuff which leads me to believe there may be...but either way, it was a fun ride! Worth the money and your time! 8/10!!!
