The positives of this game are the price and a decent amount of depth. Games can be played fairly quickly, and a key part of every element is upgrades. In order to "evaluate" a game for further play, I will often use a trainer (WeMod is great; please Google it) or CheatEngine to get to the meat of the game quickly. Unfortunately, I believe I ran into the "bugs" some people have mentioned. In my case, the combat screen (which is card-based, and pretty simple but good) froze a couple of times. For this reason, I decided not to play the game further. For those who wish to take the risk - you may not run into bugs in the two-hour refund time - there is a Town screen with several elements that can be upgraded. In the map screen, Generals can be hired and upgraded based on Research points. Infantry, Cavalry, Archers can be hired and put into an army under the General. When you move your armies onto another region, you are given the option to attack. From there, the Battle screen comes up. When you choose a unit card, it shows the percentage damage vs. the various types of enemy unit cards. These can run from 33% to 110% in my experience, and I was generally at Level 4-5 in units and buildings. As for units, the Research portion just keeps giving units a 2% kill bonus again and again, based on what I saw. Research I believe does impact other parts of the game though. Due to the simple map, there doesn't need to be much of an AI. I was never attacked even though I left regions empty. Overall, had I not "cheated" I would probably have been slaughtered or bored to death waiting for enough resources for upgrades. Not bad, but again, the frozen combat screen bug (for me) means I cannot recommend the game.

first negative review for me but the game has way too many bugs to be playable. It freezes in fights and I can't load savegames. Did not expect a game like this to be released and not be patched..
A promising game, but so much bugs after only a couple of hours ! This game is clearly not finished and broken. I would really like to play this game, but at that point, it's more a pain than a game. Too bad. Here are some. There are probably more: - the biggest bug : manual battles! I had to Alt+F4 so many times because it seems to freeze if I move the mouse too fast over an unit while some are fighting (not sure about that). Or when I'm attacked and have defense buildings, the game freeze after the IA made his attack. Really painfull. This is one of the major bugs to my point of view. - some generals skills can't be acquired, even if he has enough xp to spend. (bonus to recruits / rounds and movements on friendly territories. - About the last one, it's useless (see somewhere below) - When you reload a game, you can train again a uniit. OP. If you do it several times, buying a unit can even give you back some recruits... same for the iron. Yeahh they pay to fight for me and they offer me slaves (or their children maybe, or workmates they do not like...) - The sound when you enter the market is ... well... a sound from the 90' cheap game. A 2 seconds one, repeated again and again. Soooo awfull ! - IA is doing almost nothing (maybe because I played in easy mode ?). You can attack at will the romans. They just send several armies to protect the territory, but almost never tries to take it back after they are defeated. - Diplomaty ? A joke. "your sage and <your ennemy> decided to make peace". Hey, I didin't ask anything ! What ? All my attacking armies went back to my capital ? Teleportation is sooo common, today ! A good point, no use to build road. Oh yes, that's right, you can't. - Generals xp is broken. They never earn any xp from battles. Only from skills. 500 per turn at rank 1, 1000 per turn at rank 2, and .... 500 per turn at rank 3. - Wood is way too much important: you need it to upgrade evertthing but armies. You even need it to upgrade wood. Woooooodddd ! - Selecting several generals at the same time is painfull. And if you do it too much, sieges are failing and you start over and over with "2 turns until attack". Solution : go out of the territory, save, reload, move your generals one at a time. - The bottom right territory is a pain when you want to select your general. You have to zoom in to the max and get the chance to click on its emblem. - Armies can move from one territory to another one far away in one turn ! Picts to Enterprise, ready to beam up ! - Many bonuses you get does not seem to be applied to units (or it is not shown). What the use ? - The knowledges tree is a real joke ! Pretty sure it is useless, bonuses do not seem to apply to units. - The more you conquer, the lesser you get fresh recruits. Trying to get every single territory, I had only 300 per turn at the end, so it was impossible to win without using some bug exploits (quit and reload, so you can lower the recruiit price to a negative value). - The market is a joke. Why would I buy some luxury stuff ! The only purpose is to sell them to get money. - Upgrading the lifespan of a general is worthless. All my generals were more than ready for retirement home : around 125 years old and still ready to fight against those romans. Bwaaaa Picts are magical creatures, everyone knows that ! - The cheapest "congratulation screen" I've seen for a long time : "you won. Continue or stop ?". And probably more I forgot. This game should never have been released at this point. No beta testing ? No friends saying : "hey, that's no good !!!" ?. I'm dismayed this game got some good ratings, this is unbelievable. There is no fun to play this game. Even RISK is funnier ! At that point, DO NOT BUY this game until major update. A total waste of money. But I DO hope for an update, this game could be entertaining, I'm sure of it. But it need a serious reworking.
Another game with a lot of fun potential, but has too many unfixed game breaking bugs! In it's present form no recommendation , fix these killer bugs, Easily recommend no hesitation. this game seems very interesting and fun right up to the bugs that kill it. i ASKED iF THEY WERE GONNA CONTINUE SUPPORTING GAME (UNFINISHABLE) ANSWER.......DEPENDS ON SALES....wHAT KINDA CRAP IS THAT....DO NOT BUY..............
The game is interesting but it has crashed every time I play. Sooner or later if I don't auto-manage the battles the game crashes. If not for this issue I would recommend the game.
Nearly 5h into the game and 3 freezes later, no, i cannot recommend this game. Sad really, it has good potential, helas, - unpolished tutorial, very clear is needed to be ready in a hurry - clonky interface - unable to attack first, unable to attack an army (the AI can...) - 4 generals active, 4 on the map, only 3 can be used - no turn autosave - limited save slots - and a repetitive freeze during the different turns in a battle is not my idea of fun, this bug reported already many months ago and still not fixed, is not a good sign as such, unplayable Making a pledge to my self to come back to this review every time I may consider to buy evil banc manager
It's a really good idea of a game, but so poorly made. There are many bugs in the game that render it completely unplayable. I was excited to get the game but now am very disappointed.
i had a game braking bug i was attacking a fortafication and i lost 3 troops and then the game would not let me do anything i was doing well for my first time
Don't buy this game; it's not even worth paying $1.00 for in it's current format. Screen resolution is not adjustable and once you start campaign mode you can't even make a tribe selection on the very first screen because the bottom sixth or so of the screen is not viewable. I use a wide screen monitor in native 2560 x 1080 and tried to force steam to change the resolution to lower with no impact. I don't give negative reviews in general but I felt the need to advise you of what you're not getting for your money; it's called a gaming experience.
