There is a game called Making History the Great War which came out long time ago, this is the exact same game, they just changed the name and selling it like it's new. There is nothing much new, in fact this game has too many bugs which makes it unplayable. Developers say that the game will leave early access soon, I'm not sure how this game can leave early access like this. * After my comments on the discussion forum I was banned by the developers because they did not like my opinion. I own both games the old one and this one and I believe I have right to have and express my opinion without getting banned by a developer who doesn't like it. Never buying any other games from this company again. They need to learn how to respect people's opinion instead of banning people for no reason.
What kind of world war game is it when the war never happens? The diplomacy needs to be fixed before this game is worthwhile. I played twice now building up my forces, preparing for the war, and then the assassination happens and they never go to war. Also if you are a power like Italy, you can never gain favor with any of the major allies and can never join the alliance. Another stupid thing is that you have a minor power almost beat, you have most of their provinces, then you offer great terms to them where they only lose one or two provinces and they never accept it. Diplomacy is just screwed and it ruins the whole game.
It's a re-skin of their previous Making History: The Great War with a much worse soundtrack. I couldn't take the soundtrack anymore so I quit to write this. If you have the old version, you don't need this one unless slightly (and I mean slightly) better graphics are worth $25 to you. If you have neither and want to try one, I guess get this one since it is somehow less money than the old one or just get whichever one goes on sale first.
This is a really solid improvement on a game series that was already quite good. Massively expanded event list, unit health system, more unit types, greater use of terrain modifiers, and attrition damage really add so much to the game's fun historic play style.
总体来说保留了创造历史系列一贯的风格,傀儡国、保护国的ai也更加智能,相较于前几代有了明显提升,回合计算速度也更快了,买得不亏 下面提几个缺点: 1、游戏节奏太慢了,进攻和防守惊人的比例导致总是要等ai来主动进攻才打得过; 2、土地资源升级、兵源管理和工厂管理太费时间了,能否设计几个一键按钮; 3、后期军队太多,可以加上一个框选范围内的军队吗,或者给他们指派将军什么的,有时候只想沉浸在一个方向的战争; 4、ai过于好战了,我更希望这会成为一个综合国家治理游戏,而不是战争模拟器; 5、希望可以通过宣称改变宗教信仰和意识形态,有时候并不想使用保护国和傀儡国; 6、战争求和系统希望可以更为透明,这样好知道ai为什么会拒绝我,该朝什么方向努力;
This game is really quite terrible. Nothing is intuitive. You can balance your economy, hit end turn, and suddenly your coal goes from +5 a turn to -20. I didn't build anything, no trades were canceled, war isn't even going so my trade routes aren't being raided. Every resource fluctuates wildly like that. I played the first 100 hours of the game and more of a logic puzzle, trying to figure out what makes things do what. Even when it lists it: 10 coal and 10 metal make 10 steel, at least half the time there's another resource it needs that isn't listed. The war itself is pretty easy, just build endless artillery and be invincible. Almost no strategy involved. Your allies will always hate you. The enemy is taking their territories and you want to help, but they will refuse to give you military access to their death. So you take back a province, liberate it, then have to vacate cause they just get pissed you're on their land. Why can't allies have military access? That seems like the simplest ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing to program in, and it would eliminate so many headaches. On the bright side, I have an achievement for making it to turn 10 (ten!) and only 7% of players have it. All of my achievements have gold borders with 1 and 2% achievement rates, so it makes me feel like I'm super great at this. In the end, I recommend this game. It is really quite terrible, that's true, but it's still one of my favorites. Just a great little laid back WWI strategy game, that requires heavy managing of the economy. If nothing else, you can get hours out of it as a very complex logic problem. At 200 hours I've only figured out how things work just barely enough to play the game as intended.
there is one reason why,above all other grand strategy titles i've played in the past: i've always come back to the making history series and even bought more general licenses of it then i can possibly recount,in sheer support of the dev team. its a very simple reason but it makes all the difference: the making history series: Atleast those i've played from muzzy lane's great war onwards: are the only games i've seen that get how Empires of the late 19th and early 20th century would control and manipulate the world into the palm of their hands. let me explain this by an example: imagine for a minute your greece in 1912 and you just invaded and conquered liberia: the options you have at the moment of conquering a nation are beyond the scope of any divide and conquer i've seen in even the greatest grand strategy titles: at the moment your brought monrovia to its knees and taken liberia,you have a ton of different object of what yould like to do with that country: you can do the obvious thing and just annex libera as a part of your territory,encorporating the unique religious and ethnic nature of liberia's people into your own empire,for better or worst you can decide to make liberia into "greek liberia"-a colony with an imperial governor,kind of like how hong kong was to great britian at the time you can decide to make liberia a protectorate: let them govern their interal affairs directly,without you offering any inside control but voiding liberia's right to arm itself or do anything on the world stage without your hear say one of my personal options is the fact you can reshape liberia into a puppet state in literally whatever constolation you can reasonable think of: you decide this african christian and muslim democracy would suddenly become an absolute monarchy that with shinto as its main religion...you can even go entirely wilder then that: make liberia into "provisional government" you would be relinquishing in future to let a.i led criticism off your back and whats even crazier is that: since the entirety of the making history series has the map divided into terrotiries with ethnic and religious makeups that form loose goverments and not total monoliths like you would expect from something like supreme ruler or heart of iron: you as say,the german empire: can decide to make liberia into an independent facist nation with the religion of hinduism as its state religion and then even hand them over the entirety of bavaria and give them strasburg as a capital...it literally gets that specific and thats on top of there being an influence system where you can basically fund and buy a coup in a certain country which with enough luck and timing or strategy support of certain facitonal identity in a country you can totally create: there can literally be a situation were in 1912: the austro hungarian empire can just funnel funds into serbia's theological leaning factions and ultimately,through influence: force them coup against their goverment so by the time 1914 rolls along: serbia would be an austrian orthodox theology as a buffering puppet state between it and albania...which is insane in my eyes overall: if you ever wanted to do some serious colonial manipulation and scrambling of the world stage but still keep it at the length of the a single world war and no longer then that historical length of time: this would be your game
Great turn based strategy game, even if it is still in early access. Having the ability to play many sides, or even historically neutral countries, makes this a far reaching and ultimately replayable game. I have also very much enjoyed their WWII sim as well. One of the things I've liked about Factus games in the past is that they refine and update their products far longer then most companies seem to, except of course for those pay-to-play companies that have more incentive to keep you hanging around.
Was an ok game until turn 220. It wont save, it just fails the save. I'll be taking my world ambitions to a more polished game, this is unplayable after turn 220. And dont let the long hours fool you, its from being idle with the laptop on, i played one country to turn 220 and called it quits.
Pure garbage, and that's coming from someone who enjoys anything WW1 Updates are slow and basically empty. China makes German hardware? Ok cool... how about all the bugs? No? I'm not going to go into detail, I'm just going to tell you that I bought this 3 years ago and still regret it.
