Lapland Solitaire

Lapland Solitaire has very festive Christmas scenes. I honestly believe it is over priced for the lack luster game play and items you earn. If I paid a few dollars I wouldn't mind but for $10. I say it isn't anything special. It can't hold a candle to other solitaire games that I found on steam. I would not recommend it.

Bland and uninspired. One of the weaker solitaire games available.

A sugar-coated clone of Fairway Solitaire (Pyramid Solitaire + power-ups). Be careful with sugar-- too much saccharine will make you sick. This one is definitely on the sick side... It's hard as hell if you want to get perfects everywhere (I'm not sure it fits the audience targeted by the Christmas theme..?), power-ups are few and far between (it takes the entire game to finally unlock 3 undos across 4 stages (!), for instance, and 2 of the 5 power-ups you can buy are completely useless), difficulty is only based on the number of cards you have to remove (so basically if you get a lucky draw you'll end with 15 cards to spare, otherwise you'll have to use half of your power-ups), the story is a couple of text panels that are an excuse for a synopsis (don't even get me started with the lackluster 'ending'), and the game is full of bugs. At least the two main bugs are creative: the stats panel that shows up after you finished a stage will tell you you finished the current day, even though you didn't. If you reach the end of the day, the last panel will tell you you finished the NEXT day. Wow wow, no hurry! The worst bug, though, happens at the same moment: at the end of the day (half-day, technically, so every 4th message), if you're not happy with your performance, you can choose to replay the last stage. But unlike the previous 3 stages, you don't immediately start it again-- you're pushed back to the village screen, at which point you have to click Start, then Cancel, and you can replay stage 4... Except... Except you lose all of the power-ups you used in your previous try on stage 4. Well, that was a nice bug thank you. I nearly had to restart a series of stages from scratch towards the end of the game because of that bug. I finished the game and didn't absolutely hate it, but the lack of heart that was put into this game is directly opposed to the Christmas theme. So that's a thumb down from me. Better play Regency Solitaire or Zombie Solitaire, these are much better. Even Chef Solitaire is better than this...

Lovely festive solitaire game, great way to count down to Christmas. The kids love it and even I can't stop playing. The graphics are lovely and we enjoy being rewarded by chocolate coins to build lapland. If you're after a christmas game this is perfect, great buy.

[i]Lapland Solitaire[/i] is a game I enjoy playing year-round, but I especially like playing it during the Christmas season. The bright decorative look of the game is appropriate for that time of year and the music is as well. The game is different from any other type of solitaire I have ever played, and that has been quite a few. It isn't difficult to learn and I find it relaxing although it can be frustrating at times--but not so much so as to discourage one for very long. I paid $2.58 U.S. for this game and that was one of the best bargains I ever got for a PC game; I would consider it cheap at ten times the price.

Even if it's not the best card game on steam (try Regency Solitaire, it's far better), this one is acceptable at a discount price.

I bought this game just because i wanted to play solitare and Win10 took the free games away. I wasn't expecting much but it turned out to be a lot of fun. the chocolate coins are pretty easy to win and you always have enough to upgrade the village. It is worth the little amount of money the game is purchased with.
