Kuchisake-Onna is a first-person horror adventure game based on a Japanese myth. The gameplay focuses on storytelling and stealth to avoid “Kuchisake-Onna” or else the Slit Mouthed Woman, there are also some puzzles for the player to solve, making gameplay more various.

First up: holy MENU VOLUME, Batman! Probably the loudest game I have ever launched. Not the most promising of signs, but we're hardly in a position to judge just yet... Secondly: no options (aside from a Brightness slider, once in-game). Yup. The joys of "indie horror games", yet again. Don't get me wrong: I'm a huge lover and defender of indie games, but...credit where credit is due, and criticism where it's equally due. There's little to no excuse for this crap, especially when asking for real-world money. Thirdly: functional if thoroughly unexceptional graphics, and a highly unevocative note in the first room. But hey...early days yet, right? A room, a set of stairs and a twisty corridor later: public restroom! We have public restroom!! Definitely a horror game we're playing, then. And it's not like the "mood" is non-existent or anything; but it's nothing noteworthy as of yet. A very simple door-code puzzle, and a room beyond with another locked door. I need a key, apparently. Ah, I wonder if that would be this one, on the desk right next to the door? Um...no, actually, it isn't. Guess I'll try one of the other doors out in the corridor that hasn't opened for me yet, and... Ah. There we go. Another room...with another key in it. Ooookay. So in the first five minutes, folks, that's one door code "puzzle" ("solved" by reading a note), and two keys to open two doors. So far, so uninspired. I return to the original locked door and...what's this? "I should wash the key"! Well, that's a new one, so points for quasi-originality at last! (Even if there's no explanation given for why the key needs washing; but at the very least I can use my imagination and guess.) Good thing I spotted that restroom earlier... I'll save you the further blow-by-blow and leap to the spoiler: this game is not good. The expected chase sequences, once they ensue, are fiddly as all heck (the "sprint" button a dodgy proposition at best); the AI is pretty poor (the title antagonist seems to know where you are, even when she shouldn't); and the lighting in the game is so preposterously dark that, even after cranking both the game's and my computer's Brightness to max, I could only barely see what I was doing. Oh, and to add insult to injury, the Brightness resets itself to the mid-point every time you die or change chapters. The latter being something that I only bothered to do twice, since the constant chase/"stealth" sequences - and the cheap deaths that inevitably followed - soon became so frustrating that I quit. A quick YouTube search confirmed that I was about half-way through the game anyway - it's an hour long, at best - and still I couldn't muster up the motivation to finish. Sure, the titular "slit-mouthed woman" is fairly scary to behold, but only for the first few seconds that you see her. Before long she becomes little more than a persistent, nagging annoyance; always the sign of a poorly-executed horror game. There's a crap-tonne of superior stealth-horror titles out there, rendering this one worthy of the time of only the most helplessly addicted of horror fans...which used to include Yours Truly, but those days have long since passed, I'm afraid... Verdict: 4/10.
Gameplay is arround 30minutes.
Kuchisake Onna -
This game starts off slowly for the first few minutes and acts like a spoo-key hunt but the the true horror comes out about 10 minues in and you get chased by the true spooky one I say it is worth the money for a nice nightmare creating game As always you can judge for yourself here is the first 15 mins of gameplay https://youtu.be/Yq4In2muP0s
Super short (30 minutes) with repetitive gameplay and extremely unimaginative storytelling notes. Find the keys and run from the really simple monster AI. The title hints at a Japanese urban legend for the sake of clicks only, as the only reference to it in the game is the slightly carved face of the otherwise uninspired antagonist.
This game is wonderful. gameplay is easy and smooth, the atmosphere is dark and intense and the monster is perfect. love the difficulty too. an all around great game THANKS DEVS.
I am not sure what all the complaining has been about. For it's price it is a great game. I have seen easier puzzles than presented here. They are not hard, but they are also not "easy" like people are claiming. Right off the bat the game puts you in a sense of suspense. Trying to avoid getting stabbed by kuchisake Onna presents a challenge as she jumps out of nowhere. If you would pay $35+ for an escape room/thrill house, than the $1 this costs is well worth it. A VR version would also be great.

The main thing to keep in mind is that this game is made by a new indie company trying to get their foot in the door. Overall, this game is a great start for them. A few minor issues with trying to exit the game and brightness slider resetting on its own whenever you load or reload a room. The game itself is short which is nice. If you have half an hour or so there is no need for a save feature. Overall it was a nice experience.
Wasn't a bad game but there are bunch of keys to find. I don't know why many little indie game devs putting many keys. atleast i've count 7 keys for a small game. You can beat the game around 30 min. the price is ok. graphics are bad. AI is stuck on walls. normally i won't recommend this game but it was done by one person also puzzles are showed me some potential and confusing at the end of the game. well i was scare a few times but many keys was close to make me quit the game. after that i will respect and support the game which are doesn't have many keys if they even bad in some points Rate: 5.5/10
