TLDR: surprisingly good. After three installments of unlocking the king, creators Minimol Games decided to do something drastically different - they chose to... retreat the knight. This kind of approach has the significant risk of rehashing the same old in new clothes, but actually Knight's Retreat is a very good game on its own, and only shares the chess theme with the UtK series. The audiovisuals are much improved and differently styled, the small and annoying control bugs are missing, and most importantly, the puzzles depart from the attrition-heavy approach of the predecessor. They are still not horribly difficult, but generally satisfactory, and there are a few quite good headscratchers in there. Wholeheartedly recommended.
fun and difficulty very good.
Very fun puzzle game with relaxing sound and visuals. I''m a little over halfway through after 2 hours of play.
fun and challenging game but i personally think it has one flaw and thats you cant see what buttons do before you use them

I'm not a chess player, but I found this game to somehow scratch that part of my brain that wishes I could be good at tactics. It has the right minimalistic but isometric style that allows you to envision the moves. I love that there is no counter stressing your brain. It's like a relaxing puzzle that can take me a few minutes or I can leave it unsolved for an hour and come back to it during the day. It also has the right sounds and camera viewpoints to see things from a different angle and move at your heart's content. Highly recommended for a relaxing puzzle to keep in the background. I love the traps and secret mechanisms that come in later.
Divertido y relajante
Cool chess style puzzle game. Clever puzzles and relaxing music. Good stuff. 7/10
Got this for the Tilt Five. Only played it briefly but it's really well done and a great little concept. Well worth the price tag.
