Good and funny game!!!
ENGLISH: What caught my attention the most was its single-color graphic style—I love this kind of pixel art. The music also perfectly complements the adventure, creating a very immersive atmosphere. The game is a classic platformer that gets increasingly challenging with each level. I’m fascinated by the miniaturized look of everything on screen. I truly enjoy this kind of art and gameplay. Even though I’m not very good at platformers—I’m more into fast-paced shooters—I still have to applaud the work of this game designer.
Knight's Night! is the perfect little game to play when you have a few minutes to burn while waiting for someone or something. It's very simple in its game play as there's only a couple of skills you learn throughout your journey. There's no inventory, skill trees or anything like that at all here. This game is just a pure old-school style 2d platformer. The level design it pretty good imho. There are skips and alternate routes you can take along with hidden items in every level. But they're not always accessible to you until you unlock things like the double jump or the dash. There's also no reward other than bragging rights for finding all of the hidden collectibles afaik I didn't like the music and sounds at first, they're a little crunchy and sounds like they've been compressed to hell and back. But, in all honesty, it really works and adds to the 1bit astetic. And please do not misunderstand, the music is actually very good, it just sounds like a 16bit mp3. Overall, Knight's Night! is a simple, fun, addicting and challenging at times but not overly difficult game. I think it's great fun for a good value (even at full price). I would like to see a sequel to this game and hope it gains enough popularity for that to happen. Edit: One note. The store says that Stemdeck compatibility is unknown. I did not play this on a Steamdeck, but I did play it on Kubuntu 25.10 using Proton 10 without any issues out of the box. So, I don't see any reason why this wouldn't work with SteamOS on a Steamdeck.
Knight's Night! is a retro-style platforming adventure developed by NipoBox and published by NipoBox Publishing that embraces the design philosophies of classic side-scrolling games while presenting them through a distinctive monochrome visual style. Rather than relying on modern trends such as open-world exploration, extensive skill trees, or complex storytelling systems, the game focuses on carefully crafted levels, precise movement, hidden collectibles, and steady progression. The result is a straightforward but charming experience that captures the spirit of older platformers while maintaining enough personality to stand on its own. The story is intentionally simple and easy to understand. An evil wizard has seized control of the kingdom, throwing the land into chaos and leaving its people in need of a hero. Players assume the role of a brave knight who embarks on a dangerous journey to confront this threat and restore peace. While the narrative never becomes particularly elaborate, it provides a fitting backdrop for the adventure and evokes the timeless fantasy tales that inspired many of the platforming classics of previous generations. What immediately sets Knight's Night! apart is its striking 1-bit presentation. Every environment, character, and animation is rendered using only black and white visuals, creating an atmosphere that feels both nostalgic and surprisingly stylish. The developers make excellent use of contrast, silhouettes, and environmental details to ensure that levels remain visually appealing despite the limited color palette. Instead of feeling restrictive, the monochrome aesthetic becomes one of the game's defining strengths, giving it a memorable visual identity that separates it from many other independent platformers. The core gameplay revolves around exploration and platforming. Players guide the knight through a variety of handcrafted stages filled with jumps, enemies, traps, and secrets. Controls are responsive and dependable, allowing players to focus on overcoming obstacles rather than struggling with imprecise movement. This reliability is crucial because many of the game's challenges depend on timing, observation, and careful execution. Whether navigating hazardous terrain or searching for hidden pathways, the gameplay consistently rewards attention and skill. One of the strongest aspects of the experience is its progression system. As players advance through the adventure, they unlock new abilities that expand both movement options and exploration opportunities. These upgrades not only make the knight more capable but also encourage players to think differently about previously visited areas. The gradual introduction of new abilities keeps the gameplay fresh and ensures that the adventure continues to evolve rather than relying solely on increasingly difficult platforming sequences. Level design demonstrates a clear appreciation for classic platforming principles. Every stage is individually crafted and filled with thoughtful details that encourage curiosity. Hidden items are scattered throughout the world, often tucked away behind cleverly concealed passages or requiring creative use of acquired abilities. The game rewards players who take the time to thoroughly investigate their surroundings, creating a satisfying sense of discovery that complements the main progression path. The challenge level steadily increases throughout the journey. Early stages serve as an introduction to the mechanics, allowing players to become comfortable with movement and basic obstacles. As the adventure progresses, new hazards and enemy types are introduced, requiring quicker reactions and greater precision. The difficulty curve feels fair and well-paced, offering enough challenge to remain engaging without becoming excessively punishing. This balance makes the game accessible to newcomers while still providing satisfying obstacles for experienced platforming fans. Enemies and environmental dangers add variety to the gameplay. Different traps require different approaches, preventing the adventure from becoming repetitive. Some hazards test timing, while others focus on observation or strategic movement. Enemy encounters similarly encourage players to adapt their tactics rather than relying on a single solution. These elements help maintain engagement throughout the campaign and ensure that new challenges continue to appear as the journey unfolds. The game's audio design complements its retro-inspired presentation effectively. Music reinforces the adventurous atmosphere while providing enough energy to support the platforming action. Sound effects are simple but satisfying, offering clear feedback during movement, combat, and item collection. Together, the audio and visual presentation create a cohesive experience that remains faithful to the spirit of classic gaming without feeling outdated. Knight's Night! is not a game that seeks to revolutionize the platforming genre. Players looking for complex narratives, innovative mechanics, or massive worlds may find its traditional design somewhat familiar. However, its strength lies precisely in that focus. The game understands what makes classic platformers enjoyable and dedicates itself to executing those fundamentals well. Its handcrafted levels, rewarding exploration, responsive controls, and distinctive visual style combine to create a consistently entertaining experience. Ultimately, Knight's Night! succeeds as a love letter to retro platforming. It delivers a focused adventure built around skillful gameplay, exploration, and discovery while presenting everything through a memorable monochrome aesthetic. The combination of thoughtful level design, meaningful progression, and classic platforming challenges makes it an enjoyable journey from beginning to end. While it may not reinvent the genre, it demonstrates that strong fundamentals and careful craftsmanship remain just as effective today as they were decades ago. Rating: 7/10
一些都很完美,除了我的空格键 用手柄就完美了。玩起来不难如果有人玩 ctm还是有问题,跳跃是和跳跃冲突吗?????
