Kitten Cannon

[h1]Played On: [b]HTC Vive[/b][/h1] Kitten Cannon is proof that if you put cats in a game, almost everyone will love it; except for me, your friendly neighborhood buzzkill honest reviewer. The concept is uncomplicated, you pick up cats and fire them out of a cannon at flying horses. You could also shoot them at a random floating whale, or various planets that float by, but that seems to do nothing. The controls are equally as straight forward, you pick the cat up, turn the cannon around, grab both handles, and let go to fire. However, I found that this title has some rather bulky complications that kept me from having any real fun at all. You spawn on top of a small, circular tower, and the kittens spawn around you at your feet. The game is listed as room-scale, but you do have to move around a rather large space in order to pick up cats that spawn further away from you; it feels like an unnecessary and unrewarding chore that takes away from the 60 seconds that you get for the entire round. It would be better, and much more time efficent, if the cats just spawn in a box beside you. Additionally, the cannon is HUGE, and you need to have a good wingspan in order to turn it around and even put a kitten in the firing end. Grabbing the handle to turn the cannon around to achieve this seems hit-and-miss also, as sometimes you simply just cannot grab the handle at all. Yes, I know it's free, and in all fairness the store page description even points out that it's a joke game. However, Kitten Cannon just has far too many inconveniences and minor annoying glitches for it to be fun. Moreover, it feels like a chore instead of an actual game. Since it has been out for over a year now, it's doubtful that the developer is still taking suggestions on improvement, if they were at all, so these things are unlikely to change. Not worth the download, or the 5-10 minute playtime. Kitten Cannon is a free VR experience. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Warning: Cruelty to animals shown. You can pick up kittens, stuff one into a cannon that fires the kitten into space or you can kill moving horses with the kitten ammo. Has a timed game to count how many horses you can kill. Weird environment, can be funny to play, very short gameplay. The cannon is hard to control accurately. Try it and delete it.

[h1] I played this on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers and it works fine [/h1] You're picking up cats, putting them in a cannon, and shooting them at flying horses in space. There's two planets orbiting you, as well as a giant blue whale. There's also a model plane for some reason and cherry blossoms all around. You grab the cannont with both motions controllers, aim, then let go. That's how it shoots. You have 60 seconds to hit as many horses as you can. That's all the gameplay. It's not fun. It's not worth the download, unless you have a YouTube channel and love to scream and laugh loudly for views. Rating 3/10

Why you ask? Why not. Simple and fun game. It does what it advertises. It takes practice to speed load kittens and accurately fire them on flying horses. Who knew. Very fun to play competetively againts friends.
