Kingdoms and Castles is a city-building simulation game about growing a kingdom from a tiny hamlet to a sprawling city and imposing castle. Make trade agreements, alliance, and war with neighboring AI controlled kingdoms. Each villager and resource is individually simulated.

One of the best city builders out there!
A wonderful little gem that is still getting updates even after all these days.
This game is awesome. A nice combination of city building, resource management and tower defense. It's core is relatively simple, but the combination of all the mechanic gives it a nice depth without artificial complexity just for complexity's sake. Especially since the NPC Kingdoms update it gives me a reason to come back every year and play it.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The game is a chill city builder, kind of like slowly drawing the prettiest city possible but without the boredom of sandbox/creative games
Real chill and layed back game but also with regular action. I like it!
Really fun, hoping they add more & expand on the game in the future.
Is good
very fun city builder. good to just relax on
A fun game with an enjoyable gameplay loop- it lacks solid support for the steam deck. Diplomacy with the AI Leaders is frustrating at best and game breaking at worst, often forcing me to either force quit or exit the game frequently.
The game is fun, maybe a little bit overpriced. The only major complaint I have is that it gets a bit stale because the gameplay doesn't deviate much. You build a city, and fight minor, slightly underwhelming raids occasionally. Again, its a fun game and I enjoy it but it can get repetitive, and I have had to delete saves and restart because I got bored of the one I was playing because once you get around an hour into a save you don't really have much to do, you keep improving your city.. but for what? You don't really progress to anything substantial, you're sorta progressing to get more money and a higher population simply for the sake of having a higher population or having more money. Again, that is fine, but it does simply get repetitive. You don't really work towards anything beyond just having more resources.
