Reviews
Makes me want to play Vintage Story and build everything I see.
the game seems about identical to the first as far as things you can do aside from one glaringly obvious change; the combat. the first game had a difficult and well-designed fight system. it was responsive and had a lot of depth despite it's initial simplicity. KCDII has an atrocious combat system. its so broken that the designers made it a basic button smash. its very disappointing considering the first one was awesome. now the enemies have long, janky pauses to give the player a chance to mash the attack button a bunch. i cant play the second KCD despite absolutely loving the first exclusively because how trash the combat is. i wish gaming companies would stop treating their fans like they are infants. if the first game was too hard, it wasn't the game for you. now they just made a second edition to a game that used to be good.
I'll try to keep this brief. I've played a lot games. I'm in my 40s and I've been playing since the Atari days. Oblivion and Fallout 3 being my top picks of all time. With that said, Kingdom Come Deliverance: 2 is quite possibly the best video game that I have ever played. It's got it's issues, but no other game has reminded me so deeply of why I play these games so much in the first place. Looking forward to whatever Warhorse Studios cooks up next.
