Found this after looking on a reddit thread asking for games suitable for a toddler and sure enough its the perfect beginner game for my 4 year old niece :^) She very much enjoys falling off the clouds on purpose, and feels proud of herself when she does it all on her own. I wish there were more small-medium levels to explore though, but its a neat starter game nonetheless
A fun game for toddlers! Not many levels in total and mechanics are easy to understand. Music is chill too. Achivements are easy to obtain and no missables. Most important of all, when you play this game, you are the king!

My 3,5-year old kid have learned how to use a gamepad with this little cute game. Only 6 maps but hey are proggresively bigger and more "difficult" (for a little kid, for any grownups it is trivial). The kid never memorised them all despite hours of play. Can't express enough how toddler-friendly is this game. "Our" favourite was meeting a bat :) I recommend it as a first contact with a gaming. No phones, no mobiles, no touchscreen - get the gamepad and let the kid know healthy side of gaming.
Great simple game for kids - I've played it with my 3.5 year old dozens of times, and it was fun watching her figure out everything from "how to move" to "oh we need to gather three pumpkins before we can open this door".
This is the cutest kids game ever. My 3 year old is currently sitting in my lap just delighted that she can change the color of the ghost. She just shouted "we're pink again!". 10/10.
My kids enjoy the game. Its limited and simple but my daughter has not quite made it to a stage to play more advanced games. My son started out on this game a couple of years ago and now plays FPS games with me. A great starter game to get kids used to using simple controls.
Son loves the game. Got him used to keyboard controls.
King Boo is a lighthearted indie adventure that embraces a straightforward approach to exploration while delivering an experience aimed primarily at children and casual players. Developed and published by NDOgames, the game follows the ghostly ruler King Boo as he embarks on a quest to recover his stolen royal treasures and reclaim his rightful place in the castle. Instead of focusing on combat-heavy gameplay or complicated mechanics, the adventure encourages players to travel through a variety of colorful environments, uncover hidden items, and gradually unlock new paths. Its simple premise makes it easy to understand from the very beginning, allowing players of all skill levels to jump into the adventure without feeling overwhelmed. The game's biggest strength is its accessibility. Every mechanic has been designed with ease of use in mind, making King Boo an excellent choice for younger audiences or those looking for a relaxing adventure. Movement and exploration remain intuitive throughout the journey, while objectives are presented clearly enough that players rarely feel lost. Rather than punishing mistakes, the game rewards curiosity, encouraging players to search every corner of the map for important collectibles that advance the story. This relaxed pacing creates an enjoyable experience that values exploration over difficulty. The adventure takes players across a selection of visually distinct low-poly environments, including lush fields, icy regions, mountains, deserts, and other handcrafted landscapes. Each location maintains a cheerful atmosphere that complements the game's family-friendly tone while providing enough variety to prevent exploration from becoming repetitive. As players collect key objects and recover the missing royal adornments, previously inaccessible areas gradually become available, adding a satisfying sense of progression despite the game's relatively uncomplicated structure. This gradual expansion of the world keeps exploration engaging from beginning to end. One of King Boo's more interesting gameplay features is its randomized placement of important items. Rather than always hiding collectibles in fixed locations, each new playthrough changes where certain objects can be found, giving returning players a reason to explore familiar areas from a different perspective. While this system does not dramatically alter the overall adventure, it successfully adds replay value by ensuring that each journey feels slightly different. The addition of post-launch content, including the Candy Update with its new candy-themed environment and extra levels, also demonstrates continued developer support and provides additional content for players who have already completed the original campaign. Visually, King Boo succeeds through its colorful presentation rather than technical complexity. The clean low-poly art style creates an inviting world filled with bright scenery that is easy to navigate and pleasant to explore. The simple graphics fit the overall design philosophy perfectly, emphasizing readability and charm instead of realism. Combined with a gentle atmosphere, the presentation makes the game particularly appealing for children or players seeking a calm and stress-free experience. Despite its strengths, the game's simplicity may limit its appeal for experienced players. Those looking for deep storytelling, challenging puzzles, advanced platforming mechanics, or lengthy gameplay sessions may find the adventure somewhat limited in scope. The objectives remain relatively straightforward throughout, and while randomized collectibles and additional content extend replayability, they cannot completely overcome the game's intentionally modest design. However, these choices are consistent with its target audience and help maintain an accessible experience from start to finish. King Boo ultimately succeeds by delivering exactly what it promises: a charming, easy-to-learn adventure built around exploration, collectible hunting, and relaxed progression. Its welcoming gameplay, colorful environments, randomized discoveries, and family-friendly presentation make it a worthwhile option for younger gamers or anyone looking for a casual adventure without demanding mechanics. While veteran players may finish the game quickly, its accessible design and cheerful personality make it an enjoyable title within its niche. Rating: 8/10
Great game, currently the blue King Boo meta is op and will be nerfed soon. Generally I find that the crown is MANDATORY if you decide you want to 100% the game. Final boss level can be intimidating but the game offers the ability to turn on invisible walls so that you don't fall off the edge which makes it easier. There is currently no yellow King Boo but I'm sure that will be added later on in a DLC. Well balanced competitive game that you can get at least a good 200 hours from. Recommended.
I didn't buy this game for the story (there isn't one), I got it because my 3 year old can beat most levels on her own and she just loves making the little ghost jump off the ledge.
