Keep it Cool, Man fuses the funky style with typing arcade-shooter gameplay. Add to it a mix of a stereotypical American movie like Independence Day as story and there you have it... man.

Il mio sogno di poter salvare il mondo si è avverato... non pensavo l'avrei salvato da delle lettere spaziali, ma grazie per avermi fatto sentire come un supereroe per un giorno!
Keep it Cool, Man

Musically Saving The Planet?
I am sure everyone who has read a lot of my reviews knows that I love rhythm games. This game also falls under the same category but is a bit unique. It’s a combination of a "Typing Game" with the music element from Rhythm Games. It’s a pretty interesting combination, and they did implement it pretty well. What’s even more surprising is that this game was apparently developed by a three-man team. I am honestly impressed.
About This Game

Storyline
This game has a humor-filled plot. It’s so serious and stupid at the same time, I'm sure you’ll find it hilarious. I love the sense of humour of whoever wrote the plot. They mention that they took inspiration from "Stereotypical American movies(like Independence Day)", so you know what to expect. Anyways, the plot goes something like this:
Basically, there are letter-shaped asteroids that are coming towards Earth. Under normal circumstances, this is usually what we call "Doomsday". But in this game, people dancing generates some sort of power and becomes a weapon that shoots lasers at these asteroids, literally vaporising them. The pressure of the planet’s survival is in the hands of everyone in it! Will they be able to save their only home or get blown away with it?
Throughout the game, there are only like 3 characters who talk. I am sure they did this since there are only three developers, pretty smart! The three characters they made have their own personalities, which complements the narrative. All in all, a minimalistic but well-made plot!
Gameplay
As I said before, the game is pretty unique as it’s a combination of two completely different genres; typing games and rhythm. I was taken aback when I saw how they implemented this combo. So, like, the planet is placed in the centre of the screen and there’s like a visible forcefield-type region around it. The letter-shaped asteroids come into the screen from random directions. Once they enter the region around the planet, you have to press a key depending on the letter that the asteroid bears. If you miss an asteroid and it hits the planet, (Note: not all asteroids hit the planet, some just pass by. This is a nice attention to detail. this raises the temperature and once it reaches the temperature limit, the planet explodes and it’s game over. Hitting the wrong key has a negative impact on your overall score. You start off by just using the WASD keys. As you progress through the game, the more keys you will be forced to use. They show you what letters would "attack" the planet through a clipart of a keyboard on the HUD. Just like any other rhythm game, you get a final score and a rank that’s determined on your accuracy & combos. Speed isn’t involved since the game focuses on what you type rather than when you type it. This adds an extra element of self-competition where you will feel like beating your own score, which basically adds to the replayability rate of this game. As of now, there are five operations which consist of different "not-so-random linear levels" (quoting the developers’ words). Each level has its own beat and the difficulty will gradually increase as you go across the levels. This just shows how much content the game has. I am pretty sure the developers have plans to add more operations/levels in the future! I hope they do.
Visuals & Audio
I love how the game looks! It’s very cartoony and very lively. You can literally feel the groovy music just from the user interface elements that vibe along with it. They said that they were inspired by "Funk" and you can clearly see it. I love this simplistic yet vibrant and pretty art style! I don’t know why, but I feel that these visuals are perfect for this game. The sound tracks are vibe-worthy. It would feel better if the beats hit a bit harder to increase the oomph factor. But the current soundtracks do their job. Y’all did a pretty good job….man.
Pros

Very unique gameplay mechanic which combines typing games with rhythm games.
The story is very humorous and entertaining!
The art style is vibrant and a visual feast for our eyes.
I love how the UI feels alive. Everything is so lively!
There are a lot of levels for you to play.
A completely free game!

Cons
My gameplay experience was pretty smooth. I faced no issues whatsoever. Your gameplay experience may vary.
Conclusion
I really love it when developers come up with completely new concepts and implement it in a flawless manner. Although I didn’t play this game for a long time, I enjoyed every minute I invested in it. It’s a great way to kill time. The game is free-to-play, it doesn’t hurt to give it a shot. The game is also not heavy, I am pretty sure it will run even on low-end rigs. Reviewer: Midplayz I don’t know how to dance, but if it’s for saving the world, I am willing to free-style it! Rating: 9/10 (Idk why I can’t give this game a full rating. Apologies ;-;) Please follow United Critics for more quality reviews.

Sorry humanity, with my grandma level typing speed the earth is doomed.
Challenging with a lot of interesting mechanics for a typing game. I wish it was longer, had even more mechanics, and more music. But for a free game who can complain! Full video review, https://youtu.be/4TfRe0EcgBA

O… pisaniu. Trzeba szybko reagować a szybkie palce i znajomość rozmieszczenia klawiszy to podstawa przetrwania. Darmowy tytuł wart wypróbowania i przetestowania. I jedna porada ode mnie: nie zniechęcaj się nazbyt szybko 😉

Obserwuj kuratora WIDZOWIE HAKIEGO
►https://store.steampowered.com/curator/31951226/
Więcej informacji w recenzji:
Earth is being invaded by letters of the alphabet and y o u havg jto de f ean- Wow! sorry, I don't know what happened there. Ahem... clears throat as I was saying, letters of the alphabet are invading and it's your job behind that screen there, to repel the space invading alphabet with your quick thinking brain and fingering skills. Worth noting is that Keep It Cool, Man was made by a small team of 3. They've adorned Keep It Cool, Man with some awesome upbeat music that tunes well with the gameplay, and the writing is straight up hilarious as it's jam-packed full of innuendos and sassy jokes. There aren't many characters but each has their own personality that compliments the pace of the storytelling as well as the topics that come up. The mechanics of the game is quite simple and intuitive for a rhythm game. The Earth is in the middle of the screen and around the earth is a white zone, as the invading letters reach this white zone, you're allowed to press the corresponding letter and blast them into ashes. Press too early when they're outside the zone and you'll incur a penalty to your score. As the game progresses, more letters are required to be used for each level, soon you'll be using both the left and right ends of the keyboard and the speed of the incoming letters will plummet towards earth in a variety of patterns, from zigzags to swirls. The writing in the game is the best I've seen in awhile, which I honestly wasn't expecting but welcome wholeheartedly. You have to laugh when the only solution to ward off the alphabet invaders is to dance, and when telling the president to run, he says "I can't! I ate too many donuts in my youth!". One feedback that I have to bring up though, is that the screen shakes during conversational cutscenes are quite powerful, to the point where I couldn't actually read the dialogue and it was painful to read. So keep that in mind. I thoroughly enjoyed the game! I have to give credit where credit is due, they've come up with an interesting way to mash rhythm x typing into one game. Give it a shot!
"Keep it Cool, Man" is a poorly made 2D retro pixel "typing shooter" that's more about the theme of the game than the game itself, and unfortunately the "doomsday movie" theme is presented extremely badly and in an almost racist kind of way. What do you do in the game? You're tasked with shooting asteroids (letters) that are approaching the planet. It's a bit of a QTE reflex game, but it's not worth playing due to the awful presentation and overall shallowness of the whole thing. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. Most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's usually some kind of monetisation, from nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, to any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 4 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
