Reviews
A cute Stacklands-like that alternates between the town management gameplay loop and short campaigns of Slay the Spire combat, for full card-based aesthetic synthesis. Since the recent patch, I consider the latter half of the experience to be robust, and the game to be a satisfactory submission to its niche.

The design choice of making Kalades eat items in use, even though there is plenty of other foods RUINS the game. It's almost imposible to get hives build, because if you don't get the bee early in the day, Kalades will eat the bee from the "building project" that are 90 % done!!! After several attempts to get a second hive build to start making marmelade, and getting the bee eaten every single time, I finally ragequitted the game!!!! Sad, because the game is actually great, but this mechanic just takes the fun out of it and makes it grindy!!!!
It combines two great games, stacklands and slay the spire and makes itself absolutely tedious and boring. How do I build the bridge? Where do I find the card? Not going to tell me, GREAT! I've done everything I can think of in multiple playthroughs and it just isn't worth the time. I'd refund it but it was paired during a deal with a game worth having and I don't know if refunds work that way.
Currently unplayable on steam deck, won't accept inputs on certain parts which get you stuck in the tutorial :(
Un des meilleurs jeux auquel j'ai joué depuis bien longtemps ! Le combo Slay the Spire et Cultist simulator est juste parfait ! Et en français !!!
I like both card based roguelites, and stacklands - esque games so I thought this game would be perfect for me. Unfortunately, it feels like this game, in attempting to do both, has missed the mark on what makes both genres fun. In Card based roguelites, balatro, STS, etc, the fun is in trying to break the game, and customize your deck in a way that feels fun and unique. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to modify your starter deck, and your card selection is largely tied to the equipment you equip. The most you can do are modify tactical slots, but these aren't enough to make it feel like your deck is really doing anything special. As a result, it never feels like your deck hits huge levels of power. Would recommend making the deck more customizable, but also increase the difficulty of the encounters to compensate. In stacklands esque games, the joy is building a village, and having basic resources become easy to get, as you begin to achieve higher and higher tiers of complexity. For example, in stacklands they gradually unlock quarries and other cards that allow you to farm large amounts of a basic resource. This game attempts to do that with "fishing spots", "Tree" and etc, but the issue is that these outcomes are far too tied to RNG. This means that you spend alot of time sitting around hoping to get lucky, and get what you want, instead of optimizing you layout and production to guarantee what you want. This combined with the fact that you don't want too many cards on the board, means that you get stuck in a fairly boring loop where you target one thing you want to build on your recipe list. Wait for RNG to bless you with the proper ingredients, and sell all the rest. This is in stark contrast with other stacklands esque games where you are balancing multiple things as once, such as raw resource collection, exploration/combat, and resource refinement. Would recommend removing the or lessening the penalty for having too many cards and villagers, add more structures to target farm exactly what you need but increase the resource requirements of doing things.
Really scratched the itch that games like Witchhand and Stacklands have left. Combat gives this its unique spin and I've enjoyed it.
So far, the game is a waiting simulator. I don't really understand the point of these mechanics. "You must have xxx by the end of the day or face the consequences" but then are offered no ability to actually get those items, so you just wait through the game day with 0 interactions so you can face the consequences at the end. Why isn't there an ability to explore, at least once a day, on your down time? I'll give it another 30 minutes or so -- maybe there's just something hidden in an unintuitive UI? But if I'm just stuck waiting day after day to lose because I didn't get the exact right combination of cards from the start, definitely submitting a refund request.
The updates made to the gamer are a huge improvement. Combat feels challenging but fair, the village building seems to be less punishing which means I have a bit more freedom to choose what I build. I'm kinda addicted right now
