As fan of VN and since this is indie western VN I would say it's great 7.5/10. Please note, there's no 18+ Patch. You get bit ecchi, Like some bath scene with towels etc but nothing really exposed. Pros: - Sprites / CG are actually really lovely, even though in some sprites Alba looks bit strange. The cat, rubber duckies, etc are just adorable. - Voice over is decent and VA are great. But please note it's not full voice over. - Story takes some twists and from all the indie western games I played, this is definitively one of the better I seen. - The Air combat when compared to other games for example Subverse) is actually way more varied with various power ups and different abilities between the two characters, several levels have some special gimmicks only available in that level like slow time or ability to use both characters special abilities. Someone said it doesn't blend nicely, I disagree it blends great, and even if you are not fan of combat and just want the VN elements, there's several difficulties: story, easy, normal, hard. In story difficulty, you are basically immortal, and you only need to play each map once, since the game offers you skip after beating the level once. Cons: Sadly, as every game, there's also negatives or things I disliked: - Endings - There's a lot of endings - 8 There's good ends, bad ends and perhaps something in between. Maybe this is me nitpicking but still : The good endings is just one CG, couple of lines of text and it basically ends. I wish there was either some short brief after story or at least it would last longer. When I got Hannah good end, I actually didn't expected game to end. There's basically 4 bad endings 2 good ones and 2 sorta neutral? I suppose there could been more effort into the good ones. Which brings me to point 2. - Story - while the story was pretty good and I understand this is indie VN and there probably was not budget for more, it just ends, it feels like there was so much more it could been done with main characters and also the entire world. Devs done great job creating interesting world one locked in bubble and one outside of it, enough to leave you wanting know more and then it just ends. Which is shame, but again understandable. - Skipping - it's minor but there's some texts you can't skip, which is bit annoying on second + playthrough. - Loading Screens - There's way too many, I really felt stuck on loading screen after loading screen. This combined with some parts that can't be skipped makes chasing other ends / achievement hunting bit chore.
This game is a visual novel first without much variation on the visual part. The shmup part is so minor that you should not get it for that. Endless roundabout dialogues/thoughts without adding anything to the already very thin story makes this game quite boring. One of these games where I was more relieved when I was done with it than entertained.
I had higher hopes for this game thinking this would be like a retro cute em up with a rich story and modern graphics. After going through the initial story, I was a bit disappointed. For a "choose your own adventure" - you are not invited to choose responses very often. In fact, during the entire introductory dialog that I speed read for 30-40 min, I think I was asked 4x at most? This would be fine if it was quality writing or if there was some kind of emotional appeal but it was pretty shallow and feel like I was spending most my time wanting to click through the prompts as quickly as I could. (The logging feature is nice to review past dialogue in case you get too impatient and click too quickly) Maybe I'm a victim of needing lots of stimulation but the backgrounds & character animation are largely static & overly reused. It was nice to hear Japanese voice acting at first but it was limited & mostly interjections (kinda like how old Nintendo games were) When you finally break out into the shmup, don't expect an arcade cute em up like Parodius. I thought Sine Mora put a hell of a lot more effort into 3D environments. Again, I haven't even played for an hour but really can't see myself picking this game up again unless I'm truly bored. I didn't play the demo first and not sure how much of the game they share but if I had to do it again, I def would recommend you check out the demo first.

Visual Novel + Flight Shooter There have been previous attempts to mix elements of flight shooter, but the results have generally been poor. The visual novels were quite tedious to complete, with multiple endings. The shooter was playable, but the aircraft were too large and the variety was too limited. It's a disappointing game, making you wonder if it would have been better if it had focused on a single genre.
Worst writing ever and extremely boring. PS: Doesn't have adult content.
So first of all, this is more VN than SHMUP. Yes the Devs tout it as an Action, Adventure Indie Title but it's just a VN with it's gimmick being you have some SHMUP parts. The Characters quibs were very annoying and made me turn off the Voices. Storywise I would say it's on par with something like Duke Nukem forever. Also no ultrawide support. Totally not worth the 20€ asked on steam. It's been on fanatical in a few bundles so just get it there for cheap.
or on keysites for like one buck
Otherwise not worth the ask.
80% VIsual Novel, 20% Schump. The main female characters are excellently illustrated and well written. Don't expect a silly plot with fun adventures flying a girl plane, the plot takes some dark turns. Well worth a play thru.
Love the concept. The art is very well done and the girls are super cute. The shmup part of the game is fantastic, not too difficult on normal. But there's not enough actual gameplay here. The vn part of the game is 90% of it and you don't get to participate very often. Extremely linear story with very few choices to make. And even though the girls are cute, there isn't any animation and for the most part, the stills you do get to see are few in number and recycled often. You will see them in their same uniform the majority of the time, no matter if it's a hangar, park or mess hall. There is definitely some fan-service to appreciate. Music is forgettable. The story is good, but can seem dull at times due to some basic writing and drawn-out inner monologues. This may not bother you if you're an avid anime watcher, but I despise most anime bc of the padded dialogue, inner monlogues in particular. But the choices you do get to make lead to different events and gallery stills, so there is replay value here. You can also get right to the shmup action from the main menu via arcade mode, so that is great. Despite its shortcomings, I find myself wanting to play through it again and I do hope we get a sequel of sorts or something similar in the future. 7/10, buy if you're a fan of both genres. Team Stranger:)
If you're interested only in shmup part - don't. There are very little action content there and it's not really that interesting. It's actually kinda boring and repetitive. It looks good visually though.
