Just Grandma and Me

This is a good game to get if you have kids, or if you played this when you were a kid and would like to have it for the nostalgia. I do have a few criticisms; some are of original design choices and one is an issue with the current release. In the current release, it seems like every audio file gets cut off at the end. Each sound effect or voice line ends early, preventing you from hearing the entire thing. Surely the original release didn't have this problem? I wonder if the current publisher/developer of the game can fix this somehow - maybe by adding a second of silence to the end of every audio file. As for the problems inherent with the original, I question the decision not to cast a woman to voice Critter's grandma. If I remember what the other problem that I had was, I'll edit this review to include it here. Regardless, the target audience of this software isn't going to care that much about such problems. I do, however, think that kids would notice and not like the fact that many sounds and spoken lines get cut off early.

I'm quite surprised a game from the '90s is not only being released in 2025, but runs perfectly in Windows 11 and at modern resolutions, in my case 1440p (original aspect ratio). Worth a buy if you have nostalgia for this game.

A wonderful blast from the past. These types of games were particularly prevalent in the 1990s among computer labs at elementary schools. The game is more experiential than anything so younger children will get a kick out of it. If you have memories playing this game, you'll definitely enjoy it.
