5-10 minute game but fun. They should've made a Dreadout game with weapons and loot, resident evil style. Would've been dope but Dreadout 3 better be fire.
Think of this as a free demo. If you can survive, it should take you between 10 to 15 minutes. It is the prototype for what eventually became the successful 'DreadOut' game series. It is a very unpolished experience, but isn't bad once you know what you are supposed to be doing. I found it quite interesting to see what the original concept for 'DreadOut' looked like. You are an unnamed Asian female high school student who looks exactly like Linda from 'DreadOut'. You are even wearing the same school uniform. (Remember, prototype.) Yet for some strange reason, this girl has two freakishly huge hands, which is quite comical. The graphics are over 15 years old, so they look pretty janky to us now. The game objective is as simple as it gets. You wake up at night, in a trashed-out classroom, with a pistol in your hand. You must wander around the school compound, shoot 13 Pocongs, capture their souls, and then find the exit. A Pocong is from Indonesian folklore. It looks like a dead body wrapped up in a funeral shroud. The shroud is tied in several places to ensure it stays in place (like around the neck, the waist, and the feet). There are not really any jumpscares here, since each Pocong will give a little scream right before they appear. Also, the Pocongs themselves look hilarious. Since they are wrapped and tied up in those shrouds, they hop around like bunnies. To attack, they headbutt you. It is hard to aim your gun at them because of their constant hopping, but try to aim around the upper chest area. Your hitpoints, or life, is depicted as a pie with 8 slices. Two hits from a Pocong will take away one slice of life. Placed around the school you will find three glowing white orbs. Each of these will heal you for one slice of life. After you shoot a Pocong and it "dies", something that looks like a wiggly red blood drop will appear above it's body. This is the soul you need to collect. The exit is a huge demon face in a wall, but will only work after you collect all 13 souls. The little bit of text in the game is written in Indonesian, and no translations to other languages are available. However, do not worry, as none of the text is important to gameplay. The text will only say quick stuff like "Press Q to continue" and "You can't get through that way". Since the game is short, there are no saves, and no checkpoints. When you die, the game ends. If you pause the game (like to use Google translate), you die. There is no game menu for settings, controls, graphics, or anything. Also, the game played in a window only about half the size of my screen. I'm a fullscreen kind of guy, so I found that window very annoying. The controls are simple. For the keyboard... walk (W/S/A/D), run (W/S/A/D + left shift), reload gun (R), and pause (ESC). For the mouse... move mouse to move camera, and left-click to shoot. I personally experienced no glitches at all. Lastly, there's no achievements, no trading cards, and no replayability. As I said at the beginning, it is upolished, but not bad.
i only play 0.1 h in total on this game but it was enough to give me a cancer stage terminal, gived me so much brain damage that i start being schizophrenia and see my bro giving me violent backshot and start enjoying it but my whole family caught me getting backshot by my bro but they didnt see it as i was just halicunating imaging myself getting backshot by my bro so my whole family leave me at the adoption center, I pulled out a baby oil from my gyatt and started a new Diddy party oiling up the children with me and start doing the freakidy freakidy with all of them and enjoyed it the staff had to call police put i was so dangerous that i start oiling up the cops too and got shoot 942 times, am now in a highly secure psychiatric hospital with P Diddy and am getting backshot every day and night, if you dont want to end up in the same situation as me please STAY AWAY FROM THIS GAME
Kill the necessary amount of enemies to be able to escape an abandonned/haunted school. A quite simple game and short (5-15min), but fun enough for a free project.
