You may find the game lacks polish, or relies too much on quick time events, but you are missing the point. This game is a goldmine of memes and death scenes. A better title for this game would be, "1000 ways to die by dinosaur."
Litteraly the reason I got steam as a kid. Never finished until this year because I couldn't do it as a kid.
Life, uh... finds a way to disappear from Steam.
Point and click adventure game with quick-time events. It's very similar to Telltale's The Walking Dead series in terms of gameplay. Unfortunately, this isn't one of Telltale's best games, but it's still a decent one. It just doesn't reach the same heights as many of their other titles. The story isn't quite as engaging as I'd hoped, but the world and overall presentation do a good job of capturing the feel of Jurassic Park. It almost feels like playing through a Jurassic Park cartoon. I enjoyed my time with it. ...Oh dang, I just realized this game isn't even on Steam anymore. I'm going to take a wild guess and say the licensing rights expired. Hopefully the new Telltale can get the rights back someday and give it the remaster treatment, but that's probably a gigantic PITA. Oh well. Here's my review anyhoo. Gameplay is a button mashing simulator. The story, surprisingly amazing and cannonical they really dont make em like they used to
after 6.7 hours this game is still great
I don't write many reviews, however I feel this diamond in the rough deserves some praise. By now most of us are privy to the world that is telltale games, and all though this is another entry in that list, it is one of the first. Just like The Wolf Among us, this game is worth a play! It fiils in some crucial gaps and uncaptured areas from the original Jurassic Park film, it still retains a lot of that old school charm that we all know and love. If you can spare the money and the less than 10 hours it takes to finish this game, I say GO for it!
I have a mixed relationship with this one, but ultimately, if you are a fan of the franchise, it is worth playing. The story is the real highlight here. It feels much closer to the spirit of the original novel than most adaptations and does a fantastic job of tying up loose ends from the films in a way that feels satisfying. The characters are well-developed, and the game manages to create a genuine sense of danger—it often feels much more deadly and intense than the movies. The soundtrack is also incredibly impressive and really helps sell the atmosphere. Because the design style is consistent, the game holds up well visually despite being a 2011 title; I found it easy to stay invested in the world. That said, it is not a perfect experience. While the animations are generally good, there are persistent clipping issues that can occasionally pull you out of the moment. The death animations are undeniably cool, but they also have a habit of breaking the narrative flow. The biggest hurdle is the gameplay mechanics. The reliance on Quick Time Events (QTEs) is frustrating—they are not always intuitive, and some feel outright unfair. They don’t necessarily ruin the game, but they do make the experience feel a bit clunky compared to modern titles. Overall, if you are a die-hard Jurassic Park fan, you will likely enjoy the narrative journey enough to overlook the mechanical flaws. If you aren’t deeply invested in the lore, you would probably have a better time just watching a playthrough on YouTube to experience the story.
