While the game had extreme promise and a good storyline to follow, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this title, or any titles from this developer. First and foremost, for what it is currently, it is a decent game and very playable. The graphics are nice, the concept and storyline are fairly well thought out. Runs fairly well, smooth, decent FPS as long as you don't go over-the-top in construction. Multiplayer friendly as well as Solo player. With all that said, it seems to be abandoned. The dev. last posted a message in December 2024, stating that there was more information on this title coming in January of 2025. And the video that was posted for this tid-bit of info showed a completely different game title. Well, here it is December of 2025 and there has been no communication what so ever on Steam. There have been no updates to the game throughout the entire year of 2025. Promises of grandeur were given, stating that they were completely rebuilding Junkpunk from the ground up...... yet the gaming community received absolutely nothing. No comments, no updates, no new version, no communication..... absolutely nothing. EVERY DEVELOPER should take note, posting on a discord server is not good enough. YOU as a DEVELOPER have the duty & responsibility to post all game related news to STEAM, as it is the platform you are selling it on. Discord is good enough for general game chats, but is a cheap substitute for the game's release platform. Purchase decisions are not made on Discord pages, they are made on the release platform (ie. STEAM, EPIC, GoG). Abandoned and dead are the only descriptors for this title at the current time. Save your money.... do not spend the current price oof $15.99 US on this title. If you can get it on sale for 90% off, maybe pick it up. BUT, an apparently abandoned game is not worth full price..... unless you are really sure you understand that it is an "EA" (early access) title, that there will more-than-likely never be another update, and absolutely want to support this type of behavior. Let me be clear, not all EA titles become abandoned..... some go on to become fantastic full releases and absolutely beloved by the gaming community. That being said, this is not one of them. I will gladly revisit Junkpunk and this review if it ever gets the updates it so rightfully deserves. Keeping in mind the dev will have to rebuild their trust with me at the very least, and the trust of the broader gaming community.
abandoned
sad to say defo looks abandoned now! AVOID id say
Abandonware
Dean game and development studio... dont waste your money as its never going to get finished. Too bad too as it was a decent game...
I feel bad, as it seems the developer has fallen victim to a lot of forces and pressures that have been adversely impacting the games industry as a whole in recent years. I prefer not to use the word "abandoned" as that would seem to infer intent on the part of the developer. But all the same, it appears they're unable to continue working on it, as there have been no updates at all for over a year. The game itself is not terrible, and would have like to have seen it in its final form. But it doesn't appear that is in the cards. If it ever goes on a 99% sale, or free, maybe download it then. But I can't in good conscience tell a fellow gamer to pay full price for an "Early Access" game that will never make it to a 1.0 release.
Bought awhile back, played a few minutes, then shelved pending future updates. Welp, have to remember than Early Access is a gamble.
Abandoned
Abandoned like everyone said. The last dev news was January 2025. Gives this one a skip, there are other automation terraforming games out there and more in the works.
Bought it years ago. was pretty fun but the game remains unfinished.,.
