A hidden gem. A rage game metroidvania with a very unique movement. The controls are BRUTAL but fun to master. I played on keyboard and boy was it one of the hardest games I've played because of its movement. The ambience, subtle story telling, excellent music and weird controls make it a 9/10.
Having reached the ending and found almost everything (only missing two dragonflies), I really enjoyed my time. I thought the mechanics of the spider were nuanced and there's a lot of dynamic potential in the kind of movement you can pull off. I liked the difficulty and that there was substance to it. Not sure I'll be able to handle
one leg mode
though. I remember there was one section I came across quite early on, and I tried and I tried and tried over multiple sessions to make progress, only getting a bit closer, a bit better at handling the spider and leaping. But then I forgot where I had come across the area in the first place so moved on to the main other paths. And then when I did stumble upon that same place again, this time I got through it with relative ease, without really trying, and it was quite a nice fulfilling moment, realizing just how much I had improved. Oh yeah, and while this game does have a few metroidvania elements (non-linear, finding abilities allowing further progress in previously visited areas), don't expect that to be the main draw. The only things I wish could be better is if the map was more clear, and also if there was some way to figure out where the last of the dragonflies are, I missed two and have no clue where to look since they're probably one of the ones somewhere in the open air or some other inconspicuous place. I think with the deep mechanics and the unique cozy atmsphere, I would definitely recommend this if you like Getting Over It and those sorts of games, and I'm frankly quite surprised it hasn't received more attention, because I think it deserves some.
At every stage of development of the game, I found it quite addicting. Since the beginning, the core of the game was well thought out in terms of what it is that the player is expected to do with the controls. They are simple enough to understand, but quite difficult to master once you reach the more complex courses. The game becomes really satisfying once you get the hang of the controls, and soon enough you find yourself swinging, flipping, sliding, and webbing around. Exploration is somewhat up to you, though there is a more or less intended progression path. If challenges are what you like, then you'll definitely enjoy this game. Its simplicity, openness and depth are what make it so good. Kudos to the developer for doing such an amazing job on their own! Truly a passionate one man army!
I love the gameplay and the ambiance of the game. I've talked to my friends about this game, because it is so unique and fun, I just hope everybody loves it like me!
Looks like oldschool games, definitely like it
An interesting game, running, jumping, grabbing for items, only control for the gamepad, overall a great game
The game is really really fun. It might be challenging to get the hang of things at first with the unique movement controls but once you do, it becomes such a wonderful platforming challenge. The visual style is very charming and I personally find it engaging enough to keep playing. The soundtrack too is such a charming collection of music. It really adds to the game's atmosphere and I will definitely get the original soundtrack if it's available. Overall a really fun game to play a few hours at a time :)
Physics is so funny, love to swing
Incredible and truly unique game. The controls are just ridiculously cool but extremely challenging to master!
