My goodness what a wild ride Jimmy and his family and friends got me through hard times when my mom was sick with cancer
once you find out what the real boss is how hard this hits
Literally one of my favorite games of all time. A really charming experience through and through, even if it is a little harder than a most other RPGs i play. I love this game so much.
Deliciously weird game
very fun rpg, lots to do, but did not like the ending
this game is an absolute treat the whole way through. the music is memorable, the characters are charming, and the story is great to say the least.

4.7/5 A surprisingly excellent and meaningful RPG. I would give it 5/5, except that there are a few aspects of this game that I wouldn't recommend to all players. Admittedly, I started this game with low expectations and thought it would be an Earthbound/Undertale ripoff. But it's not. While it certainly tips its hat in those directions, the game has its own depth of story, personality, and sheer gameplay that made me sink a good 1-2 hours into it per play session. The music was quite good, too, which is impressive for the number of tracks and the variety of styles. It was easy to more or less unconsciously "grind" levels while just wandering around and appreciating the aesthetics. I was consistently impressed with the creativity of the different abilities and the boss fights. I played on Easy mode, and I still had to think through several interactions. Even when I was starting to get overpowered near the end, the game managed to keep me on my toes. It was the perfect level of casual gameplay. Also, it was quite creative in the way it hid several secrets. I've been playing games for a long time now, and for this kind of game it's hard to set up fresh situations, but this game was able to pull it off consistently. And even when the kinds of puzzles were typical JRPG fare, the game was able to contextualize them in a way that made them seem fresh. Mild Spoiler Warning for next couple sections: The only thing I deducted points for is
the fright level and emotional heaviness of a few aspects of the game might be a bit much for some players. Overall, though, it does an incredible job of walking the fine lines along the intersections between sentimentalism, nightmarishness, and grief pr0n. That's not easy to do.
Also, I should mention it because it was relatively early in the game (~6 hours?) but
the haunted house section (which I think might technically be optional) dragged on for way too long and required a lot of aimless walking back and forth in a rather uncomfortable setting. The only reason I mention it is that it was the only part of the game when I started feeling annoyed enough to just put it down and move on since it was still fairly early.
