Really nice jigsaw game, pictures are great and overall I liked it :D Pros: - Snapping pieces together works really well - You can actually snap pieces together outside of the main box (yeah most jigsaws I've played don't allow this) - Very good zoom - Hints (I used to think hints were weird, but spamming them when you've only got a few pieces left to place is fun xD) - Cool music - Actually tells you which ones you've completed in the menu Suggestions/Complaints: - Add a "edge piece only" button. Some people like it, arguably it's "cheating" but people should be able to chose if they wanna use it or not. - Neither of the 2 "sound" settings mute the story that plays at the end of each jigsaw. - I also don't think the story for each jigsaw should play again once you've seen it once. You can always go into the menu and play it again via the "book" thing, so I don't think it's needed. - Keyboard shortcuts would've been nice (like WASD/arrows for moving, shortcut for showing the picture, shuffle etc, just everything that's available but via keyboard shortcuts) - Small issue with zooming, if you zoom in all the way you can't actually move around the whole screen, causing you to miss pieces if you don't zoom out again. Not really a big deal but IMO definitely a bug. Recommended even at full price, I got over 30 hours of gameplay out of this (I did each jigsaw and their sizes once). Excited to finish the other ones :D
A puzzle game with character. The flickering candle was a bit annoying and headache inducing, but thankfully you can turn it off in the settings
This is an amazing Jigsaw with a dark atmosphere with 6 unique creatures with an amazing art style! Recommend for the vibe!
BepInEx(x64版)とXUnity.
The artwork is gorgeous, the music is gorgeous, everything about this game is a feast for the eyes...except the colors fading in and out in the background. Maybe it's just my tired old eyes, but I wish there was an option to turn that effect off and have one solid, non-pulsing color in the background as I do my puzzles. ^_^
The concept for this jigsaw game is really cool, and you can tell that a lot of work went into making it. The narration is a nice feature, and the art style is pleasant to look at. The puzzles themselves also aren't extremely hard, but are fun and relaxing to solve. I enjoy sitting down and working on them while watching Youtube late at night!
A very interesting game where you search for the correct order to discover the image that is hidden behind the pieces. In a gloomy room we find a large book where horrendous creatures are drawn, a compendium with information to study. Your task is to relocate the pieces that have been scattered to recompose the images that present terrible beings, monstrosities that you do not want to meet face to face. We start in our bedroom, with the right click of the mouse we can move to take a detour and get an idea of what the room where we hide is like. It is a curious and very intelligent idea, not all titles let you do that and for me it is striking. In addition, there are quite a few images (although I wish there were more), the drawings are very nice, although some of them seemed very simple, so to speak. There are quite a few options for the number of tiles you want to use to put the puzzle back together, and each solution gives you an achievement, which I love. There is a section where we will see the unlocked extras after solving the enigmatic image, short animations with a story about the beast. There is a configuration and options section, I miss the Spanish language so as not to lose information. I like the music a lot, it's dark and horrifying and it's not annoying. Price and content ratio is very good, and if they decide to release any DLC I would gladly buy it. The best The Aesthetic The images the unlockable steam achievements Music The curious option of being able to see what the room is like The value for money Worst I miss Spanish I wish there were more pictures Something that I do not include in any of the options is that there are no clues (they are not necessary in small levels but in large ones they might work well) ****************** Un joc molt interessant on cercar l'ordre correcte per descobrir la imatge que s'amaga darrere les peces. Jigsaw Bestiary, developed and published by Minicactus Games, is a beautifully crafted puzzle game that blends the traditional satisfaction of assembling jigsaw pieces with a creative exploration of mythological creatures. At first glance, it seems like a simple concept—putting together digital puzzles—but it quickly distinguishes itself through its strong artistic identity and thematic focus. Each puzzle depicts a legendary creature from folklore or myth, such as the Djinn, Lamia, Striga, and Werewolf, each accompanied by a short lore entry once completed. The result is an experience that is both relaxing and lightly educational, merging art appreciation with casual gameplay in a way that feels cohesive and rewarding. The visual presentation is easily the highlight of Jigsaw Bestiary. The hand-drawn illustrations by artist Alexandre Rocha lend the game a unique atmosphere, blending dark fantasy with detailed realism. Each creature is rendered with care and character, showing an appreciation for the myths that inspired them. The art direction transforms every puzzle into more than just an image—it feels like you’re restoring pages from an ancient bestiary, rediscovering creatures that once haunted the imagination of old storytellers. The backgrounds, parchment textures, and subdued color palette all add to this medieval aesthetic, giving the game a distinct tone that sets it apart from more generic jigsaw collections. It’s evident that Minicactus Games put considerable thought into curating both the visual design and the mythological selections to create a consistent, cohesive world. In terms of gameplay, Jigsaw Bestiary is intentionally minimalistic. You begin by selecting a creature and a difficulty level, which determines the number of pieces and complexity of the puzzle. The mechanics are familiar and intuitive—drag, rotate, and connect pieces until the full image comes together. There are no timers or penalties, making it a completely stress-free experience designed for relaxation rather than challenge. This simplicity allows players of all ages to enjoy it, whether they’re puzzle veterans or complete newcomers. The gradual completion of each creature’s illustration carries a satisfying rhythm, and the sense of accomplishment when the last piece clicks into place is accompanied by a lore entry that brings context and story to the art you’ve just assembled. The lore aspect is where Jigsaw Bestiary finds its narrative hook. After completing each puzzle, the game presents a short description of the creature’s mythological origins and cultural background. These segments aren’t lengthy or deeply academic, but they’re effective at adding flavor to the experience. They transform what could have been a purely mechanical puzzle game into something that feels more meaningful. Learning a few lines about how a Lamia was seen in Greek folklore or how the Quibungo haunted Brazilian tales enriches the otherwise tranquil experience. It’s a small touch that ties the visual artistry to a sense of discovery, keeping the process from feeling purely repetitive. That said, the game’s simplicity also defines its limits. The core mechanics never evolve beyond the basic act of assembling pieces, and while the mythological theme provides variety, the gameplay itself remains uniform across all puzzles. With only a handful of creatures available, most players will complete all available content within a few sessions. Replay value depends largely on your appreciation for the artwork and your enjoyment of the calming process itself. For some, this will be more than enough—the kind of meditative experience that provides quiet satisfaction. For others seeking deeper systems, narrative progression, or unlockable content, the game may feel too lightweight once its initial novelty fades. It’s clear that Jigsaw Bestiary isn’t meant to be a long-term commitment, but rather a brief escape into a tranquil world of myths and art. Technically, the game performs well across systems, reflecting its modest hardware demands and clean design. The interface is simple, functional, and uncluttered, which makes it easy to focus on the puzzle at hand. The soundtrack is unobtrusive and soothing, complementing the gameplay without overwhelming it, and the absence of any timers or background distractions reinforces the meditative tone. The developers’ choice to keep the experience streamlined and focused pays off in accessibility—anyone can pick it up, play for a few minutes, and walk away feeling relaxed. It’s a game designed less around progress and more around presence, offering a space for calm engagement rather than competition. Jigsaw Bestiary’s greatest strength lies in its ability to turn a simple puzzle game into an artistic and thematic experience. It treats the act of assembling images as a form of quiet storytelling, using its mythological subjects to add intrigue and depth. Each finished puzzle feels like uncovering a fragment of forgotten lore, and the visual craftsmanship ensures that every creature feels distinct and memorable. While its brevity and simplicity might limit its appeal for players seeking complexity, its charm and elegance make it an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a soothing, aesthetically rich diversion. Minicactus Games has created something that celebrates both mythology and mindfulness—a digital puzzle book that invites players to slow down, reflect, and find beauty in the act of piecing the mysterious world of legends back together.
