I, Lalune, solemnly swear to not buy anymore EA games in 202... *sees 'Bakery' in title, automatically buys* First off, shoutout to the cozy community at *Starpatch* for putting this on my radar <3 This is one of those games that I want to recommend so much because it is so stunning to look at and has the potential to be everything I want in a bakery management game. So I will, but very cautiously because there are some QOL issues here that make it hard to play this game for long periods of time without getting frustrated. That being said, I wholeheartedly cannot wait to see what this flourishes into. The Positives - The art is breathtaking!! It has an air of realism (the kitchen and world) with a dash of whimsy (the lore and cute colourful slime customers). - I feel like it emulates real life baking with the recipe cards and steps. I actually like that there aren't any mini games. Instead you drag ingredients to kitchen appliances or certain tools to complete an action. You are given a little moment of respite in between tasks as the knife chops away or mixer combines your ingredients. There are nice animations and appropriate sounds that perfectly mimic a busy bakers kitchen. Being a baker myself, I found this experience to be really relaxing and zen like. - The music selection is great and the ability to change tracks is appreciated. - You can fully customize your kitchen to your liking. This includes paint colours and wallpapers, moving appliances and adding decorations, appliances and tools. The Negatives - The camera and physics in this game are a bit wonky. I get what they are trying to do by giving you complete freedom but it's not working. You can zoom in and out with your mousewheel, and rotate the views with 'WSAD'. It would be helpful to be able to use your mouse to also rotate the camera angles because the keyboard rotation is sometimes a bit slow and annoying to solely rely on. In addition, you can place and move items wherever you want. This sounds great but soon becomes a nightmare. I was dropping cookies all over the floor, losing tools, trying to place my inventory in a particular spot for storage but it ending up somewhere completely different. May I suggest maybe having pre-made slots (on the countertops, cabinets etc) to place items to avoid this? That way if we hover an item over that slot, it automatically adheres to that area instead of ending up somewhere else. - The prep and cooking is very slow going. While I do not mind this at all (again, I find it all very relaxing) you do not have enough time during the day or evenings to get anything done, resulting in very low profits. You are given time during the night to prep and cook for the following day, but it automatically transitions to the next day and I am finding that I have barely done anything. I think a button to advance to the next business day would be helpful in productivity and overall enjoyment of the experience of prepping, cooking and ordering supplies. - I see a variety of recipes, which is great, but setting a menu daily might be helpful. Prepping, cooking and ordering supplies is so time consuming and costly that it is overwhelming to keep up. This gives the user a bit of control and the ability to manage time and resources better. Overall, I think this is a great start. My favourite part so far is the night time when you get to prep and bake. The music, paired with the night time ambiance and lightly dimmed candles create such a vibe and I could spend all my time there just making treats peacefully. I think with some tweaks, this could be a really cozy baking experience. Looking forward to those updates. Bakers, keep an eye on this one!! Update: also, having to drag the items and hold your mouse button down is a chore. Especially when the items don’t land where anticipated. It would be easier just to click once to pick up items and click again to drop them, for ease and comfort of gameplay.
The game really needs a lot of work to remove bugs. I really hate to say this because I LOVE indie games cuz they have so much work put into them but this game has so many bugs pop up really often to where it takes the joy out of playing it. I gave this game another chance when I saw some updates but this game really needs to be played by the devs to see all the bugs in it. Within the first 10-15 minutes of playing on both my first try on the 20th of April when it launched and my second try on the 24th there are still bugs coming up where drinks/pastries are disappearing when you try and give them to customers, stuff not popping onto the shelf you're trying to place it on, the baking equipment flying into the air when you mix stuff or pour drinks, doors opening when I don't click on them when I'm dragging stuff to a counter, and a bunch of other stuff I'm probably not thinking of. A lot of these bugs are apparent when you're playing the game for at least 10-20 minutes so I really don't understand why there are this many bugs unless the devs didn't play test it before launching. This is such a cute concept of a game so I really really hope the devs polish it more and put out a big update fixing more bugs and the gameplay a bit.
I really like the game, but I've encountered a strange bug. When I follow the chocolate cookie recipe exactly, the dough turns into a purple 'failed item' icon after using the rolling pin or cookie cutter. However, when I put this 'failed' item into the oven, it bakes into perfect cookies that I can sell normally. It seems like a visual glitch with the raw dough texture. Please fix it! and cupcakes are broken. Cupcakes are impossible to bake / Missing textures propably
Sadly, I Ended Up Getting a Refund for This Game, Here's Why...

First Impressions
Super cute game with lots of potential! So happy to be able to play the game on day one of its early release here on Steam. The game is definitely still under development. At this current snapshot in time, be prepared for many unexpected glitches. The plus side? The devs are incredible. Super responsive and lovely folks. However, at this current time, I cannot recommending purchasing the game due to its unplayable state. Right now, the game feels more like an alpha playtest instead of even a beta playtest before early access release. That being said, I'm so excited to see how this cute little bakery concept grows and evolves! The potential is there: the game graphics are lovely, the physics are fun to play around with, the recipes have that hand-drawn nostalgia, once the object interaction is more stable the bakery customization will be endless and enjoyable, and the music is so cozy and relaxing. I'm keeping my eye on this one!
Pros and Cons

Pros:
- Beautiful game design/aesthetics - Cozy vibes - Soothing background music - Immersive, changing weather - Nostalgic hand drawn-style recipe cards - Ability to customize your bakery decor - Unique method of making recipes that feels more realistic and not rushed - Cute slime customers
Cons:
- $8.99 USD (10% off at time of release, slated to be $9.99) for what is essentially an unplayable game at this point feels like highway robbery - Objects glitch constantly - Object placement/interaction is unstable and chaotic - Gameplay is aggressively frustrating at current development stage - Camera controls don’t allow for right-click mouse panning and are hard to get used to - The nights are more relaxing than the days, (even with days in cozy mode) and the nights are timed/automatically transition to the next day - Given that you have to spend time calculating and purchasing ingredients for recipes, there is not enough time during the night to prepare for the following day - No easy inventory management system at a glance (hard to know how many of each ingredient you have when in the shop)
See for Yourself

Video of a cozy and relaxing moment (successfully making chocolate chip cookies!)
https://youtu.be/qZ7fIIvFV-Q
Video of objects glitching (unsuccessfully attempting to make hot chocolate)
https://youtu.be/ZG_sFm20V4I
Screenshot of a cozy little evening in the bakery
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3710957614
LOVE that it shows what you've already put in a bowl pinning recipes is super helpful knife animation is cute - and love that i can use more than one knife at once love the colours that you can customize with love that you can move the kitchen around LOVE the soundtrack wishlist: be able to see the serving counter when closed so we can change its layout more accurate aiming for placing/organizing ingredients sometimes objects bounce off each other and go flying in a very dramatic way - if they could not be so dramatic, that'd be lovely (although it's sometimes funny) twitch integration disappeared after a while (not sure why but it only lasted about 2 hours and then stopped picking up chatters completely). Overall, for day-of-release of an early-access game, I loved it. It was super cozy vibes and I'd love to see where updates take it!
An amazingly cute game! I love the Twitch integration a lot and the variations that just build on top of existing recipes. Excited to see more!
I have to say, this game completely won me over. These little blobs… I can’t even fully explain why, but they are just unbelievably cute. The whole visual style feels like someone really sat down and crafted every detail with so much love. Nothing feels rushed or thrown together – quite the opposite. It has this charming, almost handmade quality that instantly pulls you in and makes you want to stay. ❤️
I honestly didn’t expect to get this hooked, but I love this game so much. It’s such a cozy and relaxing experience perfect if you just want to chill and enjoy something cute. Running your own tiny bakery for adorable slime customers is already a 10/10 concept, but the way the game adds changing seasons, weather, and different customer cravings makes it feel fresh every time you play. The art style is super charming, the gameplay loop is satisfying, and unlocking new recipes and customizing your bakery keeps me coming back. It’s simple but never boring. Also, the developers are really easy to talk to, they actually take time to listen and make an effort to address issues, which makes the experience even better. Even though it’s still in early access, it already feels really fun and has a lot of potential. I can’t wait to see more content added! :0 If you like cozy, casual management games, this is definitely worth your time <33
It's a nice game, i like it a lot. Needs a bit polishing, but it's Early Access and the Devs are great guys who are really bringing passion and enthusiasm. Totally recommend it!
Adorable game! I love the visuals, everything is so round and cute, and the lighting, weather and seasons make it super comfy and relaxing. The little details like being able to pet the slime customers make me very happy. Can't wait for more content to be added so i can decorate my bakery more! Still has some bugs but you can report them and the devs are super helpful and fix them quickly.
