Jentrix von Arcadia ist eine Mischung aus Jenga und einem Match-Three-Spiel.
Wie bei Jenga stehen wir vor einem Turm aus „Steinen“. Anstatt aus Holz sind die Steine aber Früchte. Allerdings müssen wir nicht die Obstbausteine oben auf den Turm legen, sondern wir müssen das Gemüse so platzieren, dass drei gleiche Bausteine in einer Reihe liegen. Dann verschwinden sie und die Reihe darüber ebenfalls.
Auch anders als bei Jenga ist, dass wir beide Hände benutzen und auch zwei Blöcke auf einmal bewegen dürfen. Der Turm wird automatisch von oben mit neuen Obststeinen belegt, die in einem hohen Bogen von rücklings auf den Turm stürzen. Es ist sogar erlaubt Steine fallen zu lassen, oder das der Turm umfällt, diese Fauxpas gehen aber auf unsere Gesundheit, dargestellt durch kleine gelbe Vögel. Sobald wir alle diese kleinen Piepmätze „verbraucht“ haben ist es vorbei ...

Und als ob das nicht schon reichen würde gibt es weitere Fallen im Spiel. Kleine böse Krokodile befinden sich manchmal zwischen den Obststeinen. Kommen wir ihnen zu nahe, können sie in die Finger beißen, wodurch wir die Hand kurz nicht benutzen können. Aua!
Eine weitere Bösartigkeit sind die fiesen Pinguine. Sie fliegen um uns herum und frieren Blöcke ein, die dann nicht mehr matchen. Erst wenn wir die Ente mit einem farblich passenden Obstblock beworfen haben, sind die Steine wieder frei. Leider funktioniert das Werfen nicht so einwandfrei. Oft wirft man viel zu kurz.

Leider werden uns keine Hände angezeigt, sondern lediglich die Controller werden eingeblendet. Mit ihnen bewegen wir die Stein relativ vorsichtig aus dem Turm. Die Physik der Steine ist in Ordnung und glücklicherweise auch etwas nachsichtig, da es mehr als eine leichte Berührung braucht, um den Stapel zum Einsturz zu bringen.
Im Spiel können wir uns nur im Kreis um den in der Mitte stehenden Spieltisch bewegen. Entweder geschieht dies frei oder per Snap bzw. Teleport.

Jentrix bietet drei verschiedene Modi. Die Kampagne besteht aus über 40 Levels, für ein Puzzlespiel recht kurz. Im Arcade-Modus wird so lange gespielt, bis der Turm umstürzt und alle Vögel verbraucht sind. Und einen Multiplayer-Modus, bei dem aber leider niemand zu gegen war.
Zusätzlich gibt es noch einen letzten Modus, hier schrumpft der Turm auf „realistische Jengagröße“. Leider ist es hier nicht so einfach die einzelnen Blöcke zu greifen.
Die Soundeffekte sind in Ordnung, und die Musik ist das typische Gedudel.
Die Grafik ist schlicht und auf Questniveau, es gibt nur wenige Details.
Jentrix ist ein gut steuerbarer Match-Three plus Jenga Titel. Für einen kleinen Preis okay.

Jentrix by Arcadia is a mixture of Jenga and a match-three game.
Like in Jenga, we stand in front of a tower made of "stones". Instead of wood, however, the bricks are fruit. However, we don't have to place the fruit bricks on top of the tower, but we have to place the vegetables so that three of the same bricks are in a row. Then they disappear and the row above them as well.
Also different from Jenga is that we can use both hands and also move two blocks at once. The tower is automatically filled with new fruit stones from above, which fall in a high arc from behind the tower. It is even allowed to drop stones, or for the tower to fall over, but these faux pas go on our health, represented by little yellow birds. Once we have "consumed" all these little peeps it's over ...
And as if that wasn't enough, there are more traps in the game. Small nasty crocodiles
are sometimes found between the fruit stones. If we get too close to them, they can bite our fingers, preventing us from using our hand for a moment. Ouch!
Another nastiness are the nasty penguins. They fly around us and freeze blocks, which then no longer match. Only when we throw a color-matching fruit block at the duck, the blocks are free again. Unfortunately, the throwing doesn't work so flawlessly.
Often we throw much too short.
Unfortunately, no hands are shown to us, only the controllers are displayed. With them we move the stones relatively carefully out of the tower. The physics of the stones is okay and fortunately somewhat forgiving, as it takes more than a light touch to cause the stack to collapse.
In the game, we can only move in a circle around the game table standing in the center. Either this is done freely or via snap or teleport.
Jentrix offers three different modes. The campaign consists of over 40 levels, quite short for a puzzle game. Arcade mode is played until the tower topples and all the birds are used up. And a multiplayer mode, but unfortunately there was no one to play against.
Additionally there is a last mode, here the tower shrinks to "realistic Jenga size". Unfortunately, it's not so easy to grab the individual blocks here.
The sound effects are okay, and the music is the typical drone.
The graphics are plain and on quest level, there are few details.
Jentrix is a good controllable match-three plus Jenga title. Okay for a small price.
