In Istrolid you design your own unique spaceships from a large number of parts to fit your strategy and play style. With no set units or factions you are free to create a fleet where each ship has its own balanced strengths and weaknesses, from basic fighters and bombers to hulking battleships and speedy destroyers.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. Copies below reflect the player base, not paid sales.

I have no desire to create an account and go through all the mess of entering my email and password every time I want to play a game. It's a simple little game, it should be able to save my designs and progress locally like every other game since the dawn of gaming.
Why do I need to log in to play singleplayer?
Note: Dead PvP game This game contains no meaningful single player content. There's no viably populated servers/active player population. This game cannot be played as intended.
Did you enjoy Robocraft, but would have preferred it if it had crap 2D graphics instead of 3D graphics, kept the poor monetisation, and had no players because the game design was so flawed that one single meta ruined the game? Then Istrolid is for you! For everyone else (and that is everyone, I can't think of anyone who actually wants Robocraft-but-crap), this is a dead end. So, "Istrolid" is a dead PvP game. Why did it fail? It's video game autopsy time! Almost every PvP exclusive game on Steam fails. Only a tiny proportion of them "go viral". This game failed for many of the same reasons those others fail. The chief of which is the developer thinking that their game will "go viral" without actually creating any reason for it do so. Competition amongst PvP centric games is extreme, and there's only a finite player base to appeal to. This game failed to reach any kind of critical mass and died as a result. Let's go into some of the reasons this particular game failed to appeal to gamers, despite the zero up front cost. First and foremost, there's no meaningful single player content. The developer gambled that other players would be an acceptable substitute for adding storytelling, level design etc to the Game. They lost that bet. Without a huge community of players or single player content to add a lasting value to the game, the game dies. Developers must learn that other players are not an acceptable substitute for adding content to a game. On the topic of visuals, the weak looking 2D retro assets seem like they'd be more at home in a browser game or a mobile app. 3D graphics accelerators hit the mainstream of PC gaming in the mid 1990's with cards like the ATI Rage and Voodoo3D, there's no excuse for such poor 2D graphics in 2025. That alone is enough to disqualify this for recommendation. This game is fairly dated at 9 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. You're expected to pay up $20 USD to unlock content through DLC purchases. The game should not be considered completely unlocked until you empty your wallet for the developer. This is misleading and predatory pricing on a product falsely marketed as "free". All other issues aside (any of which would disqualify this from being worth your time), this is a game that relies on other players for it to be viable, and because there's not enough players, it's not viable. I can't recommend anyone downloads this, it's basically dead.
Dead game and randomly bans people a friend of mine barely played 4 hours with me around the entire time and got randomly banned conclusion? don t touch this game with a 10 meter long stick
it gave me great joy playing in 1 match for 8 hours one time
Fall from grace. Absolute trash in it's current state!
the cost limitation is kind of stupid since there's no way to avoid it or a sandbox mode, i also think you should increase the build limitations cause i mean who wants a small ship? this game could've been so much more then it is. The game is still worth a play just gets boring fast cause of all the limitations
Gotta say, pretty good. Starting: Bit confused on UI and gameplay, had to figure it out after a minute Building: Absurdly intuitive, some restrictions like can't rotate blocks so it's basic but fun, money limit is too low imo Gameplay: A mix of boring and intense, you wait to gain money by having points captured, then spawn a ship with that money, then slowly send it to their side and get destroyed instantly I'd say for a free game it's really fun, but managing ship locations and spawning is pretty difficult
fun
