game was okay, but still needed a lot of work, however development has halted, and dev has been silent without explanation since October 2014
Abandoned. Broken even before abandoned.
Leider wurde das Spiel vom Entwickler aufgegeben Letztes Update: 31. Aug. 2014 Letztes Lebenszeichen des Entwicklers: Posted on Tuesday September 30, 2014
Game has been abandoned by a dev that doesn't care and it doesn't boot anymore even after clean install
This would be a great game if it had recieved the updates that it so desperately needed. It's a cool concept for a good price but the dev left without a word with the game only a quarter finished. Most of the time I have logged was spent either trying to figure out what the hell I am supposed to do or leaving the game running after I stormed out of the room when an engineer tunneled in and took out my core. And who makes a game where the only save feature is to quit? It was a cool idea that do to lazieness and lack of communication, became crap.
https://youtu.be/OOzfyW5YpT0 Lacking updates after over a decade in early access this game appears to be abandoned and unfinished.
No Update or sign of the dev in 8 months. Now make your decision. I am really sorry about that, because the game had potential to deliver some innovations.
I found 20-30 h of fun in this game, thank you <3
Tags: Tycoon&Simulator&Sim&City Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Eternal Early Access. Go play Rimworld. Interface is too clunky, and implementation of concept is still too early access, some bugs still persist and some features seem to be missing. http://store.steampowered.com/app/294100/RimWorld/ Isomer takes inspiration from the likes of Dungeon Keeper, Evil Genius and Tycoon games, with a bit of RTS thrown in. You start the game with a dozen of gray alien workers and a small compound, and must fend off human attacks, mine ressources, and buy reinforcement from supply drop ships, until you can take the fight to the human compound. Rarer and more exotic materials are available as you dig through the earth or explore the earth, and engineers can build specialized buildings. Music is really really good, sound effects are alright, the isometric perspective works well for the genre. The game has many problems however, the UI is a bit frustrating to use, especially with how it handles different Z levels, where you can attack or be attacked from different height differences, and the game will not appropriately display, or allow you to switch Z planes easily. Building, and ressource collecting is a tedious affair, units do not respond to your commands the way you expect, and assigning orders is very tedious and unwiedly. You will wind up doing things you didnt mean to or not succeeding at doing things you wanted to. The game has very little animations whatsoever, and the human and aliens bases usually spawn right next to each other. Random generation of terrain is imperfect with some procedurally generated issues like mismatched terrain. Unit movement is slow, and order assigement to units is clunky, making them take fire while they process your oders.
