The beautiful, otherworldly spaces soon become unsettling thanks to the sound design. I recommend playing with zen spa music or the Silent Hill 2 soundtrack (the chiller songs, anyhow) in the background to pump up the magical feel.

what did i just play, carl burton?
A highly unusual "game" and commentary on the many non-spaces we inhabit without taking note or seeing. The audio heightens this sense of disjuncture between the human elements and jarring sounds, flooding and air raid sirens in what seems to be a hotel lobby, cash registers, soda cans again and again and again and a sudden underwater scene of serenity and peace. The most powerful for me so far, was non-space 5. There is also a prevailing atmosphere of non-presence, somehow missing the moment. Sometimes attention to a plant growing out of a crack, becomes the opposite of mundane, but rather a moment of life, beauty and strength. Often we exist in the past and future, but rarely live in the present.:bag_of_gold:
GOTY 2026
Quite the experience!
Love the concept, the art style and movement behind every object is neat. With that said, here comes the bad part. The controls are bad. Doesn't respond most of the time, you have to pixel hunt most of the time. If you can live bad controls, and love surreal art, this is right up your path.
More an interactive art installation than a traditional "game", Carl Burton's little experience took me a decade to "beat". I did two levels when it launched, and the rest today. It reminded me of the heady, experimental days of my own indie game development life back in 2010. Liminality before Kane Pixel's "Backrooms" became a genre, worth a peek for the price.
The art was surreal and stylized, with a strikingly beautiful aesthetic. The interactive experience was soothing and truly breathtaking.
