About

While Shelly "Bombshell" Harrison earned her codename defusing bombs for the Global Defense Force, when evil transhumanist mastermind Dr. Jadus Heskel unleashes the members of his cybernetic cult onto the streets of Neo D.C., she knows it's time to start causing explosions instead of preventing them.
Her quest to slay Heskel leaves a trail of carnage throughout huge, multi-path levels filled with gigantic explosions, more secret areas than we can count, and inhuman foes behind every corner. There's no regenerating health here; stop taking cover and start running and gunning.
Shelly's crusade to take down Heskel's army will see her leave destruction in her wake with a wide arsenal of weapons, complete with alternate fire modes and different ammo types. Her signature revolver, the tri-barreled Loverboy, brings enemies pain and players pleasure with both single shots and Old West-style hammer fanning action. Who needs a regular shotgun when you can load buckshot into your grenade launcher? Violent, over-the-top Bowling Bombs rip enemies apart with ease.
Ion Fury laughs at the idea of mandatory checkpoints and straight paths through shooting galleries. But, just because this is a true old-school first-person shooter doesn't mean we've ignored all the good new stuff the last two decades have brought. Headshots? Hell yeah. More physics and interactivity? You betcha. Widescreen, controller support, and auto saves? 3D Realms and Voidpoint have taken the best of both worlds and cooked it all into a bloody stew.

A great game!
I love the game. I love its vibes, colors, music, pace and just about everything. The only thing is I can't see enemies clearly sometimes, not sure if it is my eyes or just they are not so good visible on the background. But I mastered the quick save so I would be aware of their locations. And adjusted gamma a bit. Sure it impacts the atmosphere but at least I see a bit better.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Years later and I can confirm, this is one of the best "boomer shooters" and is up there with the classics. It feels like a real step forward for the FPS design of the '90s without all the baggage the genre would later accrue. Great shooting, great weapons, and great level design, make this a fantastic time. My only negatives would be that some of the levels are not as fun as others, but the positives more than make up for it and the Aftershock DLC is excellent from back to front. If you like the genre, you need to play it. It's still one of the best.
The best Duke Nukem game since Duke Nukem 3D - really captures the spirit of all those old Build Engine games, complete with devious secrets and a wise-cracking protagonist. A thoroughly brilliant retro boomer shooter that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking fill that Nukem-shaped hole. They really don't make shooters like this anymore - except they did!
Good Game
Honestly a really good fun boomer shooter with a lot of charm and a lot to like! The shooting feels great, the sound design is excellent (weapons feel punchy, enemies explode into squishy chunks, and the music pretty perfectly matches the atmosphere). Although obviously shallow, I do also really enjoy the main character's quips; the VA does a fantastic job of bringing this sassy lady to life without being too cringe and I loved hearing her quips! The levels feel overall pretty perfectly paced; they do sometimes have their slower moments where it's not immediately obvious where to go, but for the most part the levels flow in quite a natural way from one point to the next, leaving the "seek" part of the overall "seek and destroy" gameplay loop not feeling too daunting. I think the only real criticisms I have are the game doesn't do a whole lot to stand out from its competition. It is great, but it never goes that extra step to "wow" you, or to really push its particular genre forward; I feel like this is most evident in its roster of enemy types. They are perfectly functional, but nothing really beyond that! There are also wayyyyy too many secrets - I usually try to find a few of the secrets in boomer shooters, as it can really add to the charm of the game, but some of these are just really silly to have to find. I can imagine it would really get tiring looking for all of these without a guide. Overall though, great fun and a good addition to any FPS fan's collection.
My personal favorite Boomer shooter, it really does just have everything going for it.
