About
While Shelly "Bombshell" Harrison earned her codename defusing bombs for the Global Defense Force, when evil transhumanist mastermind Dr. Jadus Heskel unleashes the members of his cybernetic cult onto the streets of Neo D.C., she knows it's time to start causing explosions instead of preventing them.
Her quest to slay Heskel leaves a trail of carnage throughout huge, multi-path levels filled with gigantic explosions, more secret areas than we can count, and inhuman foes behind every corner. There's no regenerating health here; stop taking cover and start running and gunning.
Shelly's crusade to take down Heskel's army will see her leave destruction in her wake with a wide arsenal of weapons, complete with alternate fire modes and different ammo types. Her signature revolver, the tri-barreled Loverboy, brings enemies pain and players pleasure with both single shots and Old West-style hammer fanning action. Who needs a regular shotgun when you can load buckshot into your grenade launcher? Violent, over-the-top Bowling Bombs rip enemies apart with ease.
Ion Fury laughs at the idea of mandatory checkpoints and straight paths through shooting galleries. But, just because this is a true old-school first-person shooter doesn't mean we've ignored all the good new stuff the last two decades have brought. Headshots? Hell yeah. More physics and interactivity? You betcha. Widescreen, controller support, and auto saves? 3D Realms and Voidpoint have taken the best of both worlds and cooked it all into a bloody stew.

A very fun retro shooter modelled on Duke Nukem 3D but with more detailed environments and a protagonist who's more generic action hero and less douchebag. Also reminds me of Judge Dredd with the super cop with a special pistol shooting their way through a dystopian, cyberpunk city. My only 2 complaints are enemies can be hard to notice in the detailed environments, and the weapons (while feeling great) don't really have clear uses. The 3 guns you get regular ammo for (pistol, shotgun, crossbow) are all equally good against almost all enemies.
You can't have a boomer shooter revival without Ion Fury. This game sits besides Dusk, HROT and Amid Evil in my book. Absolute masterpiece. The DLC is pretty decent too.

Great game. Levels are big and fun to explore. Just gets better as you keep playing. Easily one of the top boomer/throwback shooters I've ever played
For those, like me, that still love the good ol' retro FPS titles such as Duke Nukem 3D from the 90's, you're in for a very special treat as this FPS is made by none other than the very devs that gave us DN3D, and those that say 90's tech FPSes are dead clearly underestimate the potential that these good ol' classics still deliver to this very day. ^-^ Ion Maiden is very similar to DN3D, only this MC is a badass female variation of Duke that delivers just as awesomely as the King himself, and can kick just as much ass. When Ion Maiden is on a decent sale discount, you can't go wrong with this lovechild of the good ol' DN3D days~ X3
Duke3d was my favorite 90s shooter, and this surpasses it for me. Every weapon is fun, and the environments are excellent. The boss fights are surprisingly well done as well; I usually find this disappointing in boomer shooters, but they're great in Ion Fury.
