Game is unstable and crashes frequently. Lack of save options make you lose hours of progress.
Some update broke the game. Get an error, then it crashes. Tried to google the error and found nothing. GG, avoid.
game is broken, cant start a new game without locking up and its not just me, check the discussion. refunded.
A fun, jaunty little space adventure spoiled by clumsy pathfinding and many, many glitches where your crew can become stuck and unable to return to the ship.
This is one of those times where I wish Steam let you give a "Maybe" recommendation instead of just a "Yes" or a "No". I can certainly understand why it has mixed reviews (at the time of this writing). As it is, I guess I have to go with a "Yes, but"... Terrible UI and controls make it hard to access what's otherwise a good game hiding behind a headache. Rebindable keys and some QoL improvement would go a long way towards making things better, but despite its flaws, there's something both compelling and charming about what's there as it is. If you're looking for depth, look elsewhere, but this game is an interestingly simple take on the "space opera sim" genre. Wide but shallow, even somewhat arcadey at times, but that's not necessarily a bad thing when you know what you're getting into. Sometimes something lighter's just what the doctor ordered. The chiptunes soundtrack is amazing, if that's something you like; for some, possibly worth the price of entry alone. I guess it's no wonder the OST costs nearly as much as the game itself. For 90% off, I'm glad I got it, but I'd have been disappointed at full price. At once frustrating and addictive, a definite "Maybe".
If there is 10 scores in total I would give 5 to this game. It is not bad, but also not good enough for me to recommend this game so that I have to give a down review. I was attracted by its interstellar travel background originally. But I soon got bored when it gets to the fighting parts or jumping between different planets. And the game still has some bugs. The most serious bug is sometimes saving the game could corrupt the save slot. All seems fine at the beginning, the game successfully saved, you successfully exited the game... until next time, you try to load the game, it keeps loading forever! Then you realize something wrong with the saved slot. You never know when you save the game could corrupt your save file!
This game is way better than I expected it to be. I had heard bad things about it, and let me start out with the caution that the negative reviews are largely true and valid. But for the price, and for the size of the developer, you're really getting a lot for your money here. This game is way bigger and better than I expected. You can fight, trade, customize your ships, manage your fleet, explore planets, follow a pretty long story line. It has got: - space trucking - space exploration - space legs - planetary landing - harvesting - story - combat in space and on ground Games I would compare it to? Starflight. Deathwar 3030. Landinar. Sun Dog. It is visually and stylistically similar to Star Command, but so much more involved. It has some of the same elements as Starbound, but plays totally differently. I've seen comparisons of Interstellaria to those two games, and I think those are misleading. Does not feel like them at all. Is it like FTL because it has crew management in combat? No. This has some bugs and especially some UI shortcomings, but they're not game breaking and this is a load of fun to play.
