This game had potential. It was like having a massive boner for a year and a half until realizing the game wasn't being updated or worked on, then your boner went limp. That's the best way to describe this game.
Game is COMPLETELY dead, the developer does not communicate with the community anymore. I forgot I even had this game in my library, I played this back in 2019 when three of my friends and I were looking for co-op shooters to play together. We were disappointed to say the least and never touched it again. After delving into some of the community's reviews, discussions, and the history of this game's development and it's developers. It's safe to say that the developer has abandoned this project and most likely ran off with everyone's money. I'm sorry, but it's been years. There have been successful early access games before of equal or better quality. But somehow, with nearly nine years of development. This developer has failed to bring a game worth playing that aren't just fancy showcases disguised as levels. The enemies are completely rudimentary, these "robots" charge and melee you as soon as they see you and that's it. Levels look like they came out of a game from 2008 in terms of both design and geometry. The graphics themselves are heavily reliant on bloom and cheap lighting and shadowing tricks. The whole selling point of this game was co-op but they somehow make it a point in their updates to focus on PvP. The worst part of this "game" is how long the developer takes to make SIMPLE mechanics, ever seen a game where they proudly boast off "lean mechanics" in a so called "major update"? Yeah, this game does that. It took them ALL those years to add lean mechanics, woo! ♥♥♥♥ off. How dead is this game? As of writing this review, the last activity from this developer was on Oct 2019. Go buy a big mac or a game worth your time and money.

when alot of the trailers came out a long long time ago it looked really cool. it never really delivered though, and was very quickly abandoned and left behind. there were several attempts to revive it, which didnt pan out right. i dont recommend this to anyone. if you play it alone i can guarentee a sense of alone in the dark i guess. it feels empty and hearing the robots makes it *kinda* spooky i guess. dont buy it even if its on sale, its not worth it. i dont think there is any hope for this one.
I see a lot of people posting recently about how this game isn't finished yet, and how they are rating it as "awful" when they have literally less than an hour in game. To the last developer on this project, dude/dudette, you are awesome and don't let others losing sight of the larger picture and internet haters get you down! When this game originally launched, I admittedly had little hope it would get better, but I put it down for a few (read five) years, and when I came back and put some time into the missions, I was immensely impressed with the quality of the three missions, the great albeit predictable CTR spawns in the challenges, and was absolutely floored by the Playground choices. I haven't played the Wargames or multiplayer side yet, but I'm trying to get more friends to join me so I can. This game has amazing graphics and sound that is plain unparalleled in currently available shooters outside of potentially Tarkov (I haven't actually heard Tarkov but I hear it's amazing). The CTR AI is a little bizarre at times, but look at a title like Arma 3 for a "tactical" military FPS, and honestly try to tell me about how the big studio Bohemia Interactive did a better job on the AI (they didn't, in fact they are far less intelligent and fluid in their response even now). In a modern era of tactical FPS being crafting/inventory management games, this is a herald back to the time of playing Rainbow Six for it's tactical strategy-based infiltration and difficulty, and you will not be disappointed if you are looking for that type of game now. For future reviewers of this game, remember that this is a masterpiece still being developed, hence the "Early Access Game" badge on it. It's not a finished game, you are never promised a finished game, but what you are getting for your ten-dollars (US) in base game is the product of a small development team that HAS improved the game over the years. Just because it's not at your desired AAA title speed does not mean it's not being worked on. At the very least, give the game 2 hours of playtime, and/or try to complete the three missions currently available before you review. I've been with this title since 2013, and I was an Alpha/Early Access buyer of Arma 3 as well, and Arma definitely didn't look, feel, or play this good with a big studio backing them until after 1.0 dropped. My opinion is that given community support and us all getting our friends involved will help kickstart this game back to life if the Dev wants it revived. I personally will absolutely be buying the four-pack to share with my friends list because this is a frustratingly awesome experience I know they will enjoy once they start getting into it as well. Maybe they will even upgrade to spearhead like I did.

bought it as a early access, the game was buggy, hasnt moved much, and not many players in my region. I thought id buy it as it was on sale, and wanted to support some indie devs. Never again will i be buying early access.
i like my devs like i like my father

Abandonware
So i decided to play this game again because why not. I still do not recommend the game whatsoever and I say so in a depressed manner. This game has great atmosphere, great potential, and great mechanics in it. It is sad that the game is dead. I am aware that people say that the game is not dead but not having any content being added in the past few years or even a community announcement since 2019 would make this game (by the definition of most people) dead. Even if you check steam charts there are only one or at most 3 people playing. What little content in here is fun and enjoyable but it sadly must leaves you wanting more. It is very depressing which is why I don't recommend this game. Not because it is bad or empty, but because it is heartbreaking to see a game that (with what little was put into it) had passion and refinement in it every step of the way. It is $10 dollars so if you got the money to just throw around you could go for it. But there are only 3 missions (including the introduction), 6 or 7 challenge modes, and no pvp (because no one plays it). A really sad way this game turned out. There is one plus to this. It is a shining example of the struggle that many indie devs go through to make games. Makes you have more respect for them. I hope that another game may be inspired from this one or perhaps this one gets picked up by another dev team and finished. But if we are being honest, that will not happen.
