Although I do recommend this game if you have the funds to spare, I am obliged to inform you that it's very much unfinished... Duh, it's in early access after all. While the game itself gets a lot of things right and has a lot of interesting concepts, like "Tactical Advantage", Morale and cold mechanics or the atmosphere and dialogue options it has almost as much flaws at this moment. Crashes are not uncommon, inventory management and Caravan management is very unintuitive and UI is oftentimes difficult to understand. Not to mention you just loose your people to starvation/disease despite having foods for days. I sincerely hope that the Devs will fix the game up in their due time because once it is finished it might just be amazing. In the meantime however it is merely decent.
This is shaping up to be a solid and ambitious indie level scifi dystopic end of the world game that borrows effectively from games like stalker, wasteland, x com, wartales, jagged alliance 3, and this war of mine. The writing is pretty solid and conveying a bleak vibe. I'd say it's above average. I like the idea that the main character's leadership is built on lies and desperation, and I hope they do a good job of developing that throughout the game, especially the inevitable consequences of that with your followers. The environment is pretty well developed, making exploration fairly interesting with random encounters and strange anomalies and lots of abandoned buildings. There is a level of squad and base and resource management but I'm not finding that too difficult once I got the hang of how to scavenge. If anything I'd say there's almost too much in the way of resources on the world map so that if you know what you're doing, you'll never starve or get too cold.. Though it might be more challenging to keep all your followers in your base fully stocked. I have not gotten that far into the game in terms of effectively managing a base of followers. I like the fact that your base is a mobile truck like in wasteland three so you can travel around the map and set up camp and then lead a small party to explore and scavnege the nearby world on foot. And I also like that the game encourages you to take risks because even failures with some of the challenges and anomalies bring rewards that you can then use in things like the die rolls for different challenges. The combat is pretty good And reminds me of jagged alliance three. I especially like that friendly fire is implemented And I like their approach to the overwatch system Because it gives the player more flexibility and how they handle that situation than simply taking a shot. The developers are very receptive in discord and released a patch.Recently that seems to have fixed a lot of the crashes I was getting. There's a lot of content in this early access release, the map seems huge so there's plenty to explore. I'm not done exploring it yet and i've got twenty hours. I hope they can create more variety in the full game world rather than just the same snowy environment and same types of buildings to scavenge. While it's fine now I can see it getting repetitive over a much longer game. I'd like to see things like going into caves.Drilling it to the ice, climbing mountians et cetera. I don't want to just see abandoned highways and nearby towns. In other words more variety in the world encounters. Of course there are bugs and quality of life features that are missing.Hopefully they will be added. Inventory management and moving things around in one's inventory and between characters is very clunky. And some of the game systems are pretty inscrutable especially when you get into managing your base and your followers. And even though it makes sense story wise for the environment to be desolate an entire game of scavenging mostly abandoned buildings with only the very occasional interaction with bandits or military or survivors would get boring. I want to see things like roving.Wildlife that you can hunt and be hunted by maybe aliens And different difficulty levels in bandits.Maybe cannibals religious zealots military bases or secret labs to infiltrate, et cetera. In other words more variety in the n p c's and settings. So long story short, this is a solid effort and a very enjoyable early access title if you're into this kind of vibe. Based on my interaction with the developers I am encouraged that they are going to see it through. I hope they keep publishing news updates.Explaining how the game systems work because it's not obvious for several of the systems. This is the first early access game i've done and so far the experience has been positive and i'm genuinely enjoying the game play an exploration after almost twenty hours. So good job developers and please keep it up.
For now, BIG NO, because it needs strong patches, save game not working properly, I'm not sure if it's intended so, but after load u lose progress and need to do all stuff again like eat etc.
Awesome graphics, an extensive camp and personnel management system, a large world to explore. Pretty good game
Crash, crash, crash, crash. crash. crash....cRaSh, CrAsH, cR@sh,Cra$H...crash, Crash,CrASH...and more mother fking CRASH. If you're not crashing, you're walking around in threads because clothing in this gaming is made from tissue. If you're not walking around in threads you're in dice events where you cant cover a 15+ spread with 5 attempts because despite how many sides your dice have, YOU ONLY ROLL 1-3. If you're not constantly failing dice events, you're looking for inventory that re-arranges itself and REFUSES TO SORT or STACK without 15 minutes of micromanagement... Somewhere... somewhere in this heaping pile of crap is a good game but good luck finding it. I've changed my review and uninstalled
'Let's throw every system ever made into one game and somehow make it work', the game.
Bugs... bugs... bugs... game breaking bugs. Can't start a fight even in prologue.

This is in my opinion one of the most promising EA games I have played and I am glad that I found it. It runns pretty well without any breaking bugs. The biggest current pain point for me at the moment are some missing QoL features when using the inventory. Unfortunately, it is not possible to sort items by name, weight etc. It would be great to have this since inventory space is limited and one can not carry an infinite amount of items due to the weight of the items, as usual in this genre. There is a sort button which sorts items by type but it does noch stack things together. It would also be great if it were stacking stuff automatically to shrink the loot in the inventory and to get more space. Currently it must be done manually. Although there is a "Take all" button when looting a house, there is no such functionality when dealing with two inventories, e.g. the player's inventory and the one of the truck. It would be good to have a "Take all" and a"Give all" button here. Also there seems to be a bug with the screen resolution. I have a monitor with 5120x1440. I can set the game to use ths resolution but whenever I exit the settings and re-open them it resets the resolution to 3840x1080. This happens regardless if I use dedicated fullscreen or windowed fullscreen. Furthermore, after playing a while and revealing most of the fist map, the game crashes more and more often. In the beginning this has never happened. However, besides the mentioned critics I really love this game and can't wait how it goes on!
